Chelsea 6/10 Draw 33/10 Wolves 4.25/1

Over the course of the last 5 league matches Chelsea have just the 1 win and 1 draw alongside 3 defeats and this week they parted company with coach Frank Lampard. The dip in form has seen them slide back into mid table and whilst it is pretty congested in that area they come into the midweek program 5 points shy of a top 4 spot eyed by a whole host of other challengers.

Wolves are without a win in their last 6 league games during which time they have picked up 2 draws and lost the other 4. Their most recent 3 point haul came in mid December when they hosted Chelsea and they came from 1-0 down to come out on top 2-1. The miserable run of results since then has seen Wolves drop into the lower half of the standings, 7 points behind their opponents here.

The Verdict

I fancy Chelsea are overdue a return to form any time soon and this home game does offer an opportunity. The home team to score at least twice is a conservative call.

Bet: Home team goals Chelsea over 1.5 at 7/10.

Everton 1.75/1 Draw 22/10 Leicester 1.65/1

Coming into the midweek program Everton are in sixth position, just 2 points behind fourth placed Liverpool who have played 2 games more. Everton have won 5 of the last 6 league outings to threaten the Champions League qualification spots again and if they can win here they will move within 3 points of Leicester and still have 2 games in hand.

Leicester finished the previous round of matches in third place, level on points with Manchester City and 2 behind Manchester United. City are in action at West Brom a day before this game takes place so the picture is likely to have changed.

Leicester have won 7 of 9 road trips, drawing 1 and their only defeat on their travels came on Merseyside, 3-0 at Liverpool in November. That is the only away fixture where they have failed to find the net and they have won at the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Spurs.

When the teams met in mid December Everton won 2-0 at the King Power Stadium.

The Verdict

This is a tricky looking match result to call and for betting inspiration I will look to a goals trend and the head to head stats of recent seasons.

The last 7 league meetings, either venue, has seen backers of 2-3 goals in total collect. The 2-3 totals goals option has also been the way to go in 10 of Leicester's last 11 league games and on that evidence it certainly has claims again here.

Bet: Total match goals 2-3 at even money
