Newcastle 1.65/1 Draw 2.14/1 Brighton 1.75/1

Newcastle are on a terrific run, unbeaten in 7 with 4 wins and 3 draws and they are now 4 points clear of the drop zone. A 2-0 win at Brentford last week was the latest evidence of their improvement and they now return to St. James Park where their last 2 matches delivered wins over Everton (3-1) and Villa (1-0).

Brighton have gone off the boil, losing each of their last 3 without finding a goal. They went down 2-0 at Manchester United, 3-0 at home to Burnley and most recently 2-0 at home to Villa. They played out a 1-1 draw with Newcastle earlier in the season and on the plus side they beat this opposition 3-0 in both of the 2020/21 league meetings and haven't lost to Newcastle in their last 9 EPL head to heads.

The Verdict:

The momentum is clearly with Newcastle who have even started keeping clean sheets but Brighton might be suited to playing against a side who will attack them and I fancy we can see both sides registering at least 1 goal.

Bets: Both teams to score? (yes) at 9/10

Liverpool 0.30/1 Draw 4.68/1 West Ham 7.62/1

Liverpool come into the game 6 points behind Manchester City with 1 game in hand. City host United in the Manchester derby on Sunday so a win here would keep the pressure on the league leaders. Liverpool won the League Cup in a thrilling shoot out with Chelsea last week and in midweek they beat Norwich in the FA Cup. They are really well placed in their Champions League match up with Inter, 2-0 up with the home leg to come and in the the PEL they have reeled off 6 successive wins.

West Ham went out of the FA Cup at Southampton in midweek and their sole focus now is on maintaining a top 4 challenge. Coming into the weekend they were in fifth spot, 2 points behind Manchester United although Arsenal and Spurs who are also chasing that prize have games in hand.

West Ham beat Liverpool 3-2 in London in the first league meeting in November.

The Verdict:

West Ham don't have much of a record at Anfield but they have at least contributed to the scoring in 4 of their last 5 EPL visits to this ground.

It's hard to argue with Liverpool in any competition right now but I will go with both teams to score (yes)
