everton1819Thursday is a big night in the battle to avoid relegation from the English Premier League as Everton host Crystal Palace and Burnley go to Aston Villa and we have a couple of plays in each game with @BetXchange

Everton 19/20 Draw 5/2 Palace 3/1

Fifth bottom Everton have 36 points with 2 matches to play, Leeds are on 35 points and have by far the worst goal difference with just Sunday's fixture at Brentford to fulfil and Burnley, who are third bottom, have 34 points. After this Everton go to Arsenal who look to have blown their top 4 chance but Lampard's team will kick off in the knowledge that a win here would guarantee safety.

After back to back wins at home to Chelsea and away to Leicester Everton have passed up a couple of opportunities to have made this a dead rubber, playing out a 0-0 draw at already relegated Watford and then losing 3-2 at home to Brentford. They were 1-0 and 2-1 up against Brentford but also had Branthwaite red carded after just 18 minutes and after falling behind they picked another red card with Rondon sent off in the closing moments.

Palace are thirteenth and looking for a mid table finish. They have won 2 and drawn 2 of their last 4 league games, bouncing back from an FA Cup semi final exit to Chelsea and in their last 2 road trips they won 2-1 at Southampton and drew 1-1 at Villa.

The Verdict:

My initial thought was to go for the home win but Everton's team news will be worth following as they could be short of regulars in central defence. With that in mind 2-3 goals in total is a fall back option and on a nervy night I will go with Palace to score 1 goal exactly.

Aston Villa evens Draw 5/2 Burnley 27/10

This game kicks off 15 minutes later than the above match which might be worth bearing in mind, particularly for in-play punters.

Villa are fourteenth and have been safe for some time and given they have this game and a visit to Manchester City to come they are a factor at both ends of the table. They were 3-1 winners at Burnley as recently as the 7th May and another win her would see them move to eleventh.

After reeling off 3 straight wins Burnley are back in the drop zone after the loss to Villa and Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Spurs. A point here would take them above Leeds and they finish up with a home game against Newcastle at the weekend. They have won just twice away from home this season although another 7 road trips finished all square.

The Verdict:

Burnley are capable of digging in whilst Villa are inconsistent but given the recent result when the teams met at Turf Moor and the fact Burnley had 2 key defenders out at Spurs I'm leaning towards goals for the home side, hopefully 2 or more.

Watkins is finishing the season with a flourish for Villa but at the prices I prefer Danny Ings to pop up any time.

Bets: Home team goals over 1.5 at even money

Anytime goalscorer Danny Ings at 23/10
