leedsThe battle against relegation from the English Premier League concludes on Sunday when Brentford host Leeds and Burnley take on Newcastle

Norwich and Watford have long since had their relegation confirmed, Everton are now safe and the third spot in the drop zone rests between Leeds and Burnley. As it stands both clubs have 35 points but Burnley's goal difference is far superior so Leeds need more points from their visit to Brentford than Burnley earn in their home fixture against Newcastle. All Sunday's games kick off at the same time.

Brentford 14/10 Draw 2.65/1 Leeds 18/10

Brentford's maiden season in the Premier League has been a tremendous success and even though they have been safe from any threat of relegation for some time they haven't let up. Brentford have won 7 of their last 10 league outings, drawing 1 (0-0 at home to Spurs) and losing 2 road trips at Leicester and Manchester United. Victory here could see them finish in the top 10.

Leeds snapped a disastrous 3 match losing streak with a late equalizer at home to Brighton last weekend. That was just the second goal they have scored in their last 5 matches and they have conceded a total of 78 goals this season including 40 in their 18 road trips.

The earlier league meeting this season finished all square at 2-2.

The Verdict:

Leeds could well pay the ultimate price for a lack of investment this season. They have struggled for goals and have failed to shore up the defence but surely they will throw everything at this.

Brentford have been terrific and on current form they have Leeds stone cold but in the circumstances it looks a tricky match to call. I fancy goals but the prices for say over 2.5 are on the short side. After much consideration I'm going with Leeds to come out on top but it is a far from confident call.

Raphinha looks likely to leave Leeds at the end of the season even if they stay up. He hasn't performed to anything like the peak of his powers of late but if Leeds are to get out of this mess he remains one of the more likely goalscorers in my opinion.

Burnley 12/10 Draw 5/2 Newcastle 2.23/1

Burnley battled their way to a 1-1 draw at Villa on Thursday, a huge point in terms of moving them above Leeds in the standings. They had lost to Villa at home (3-1) earlier this month but prior to that they had put together 3 successive home wins over Everton (3-2), Southampton (2-0) and Wolves (1-0).

Newcastle were 2-0 winners at home to Arsenal on Monday, a result which looks like being a fatal blow to the Gunners hopes of a top 4 finish and evidence that Eddie Howe's side are still up for it, regardless of what their opponents have at stake. They could still finish in the top 10 and they did beat Burnley 1-0 at St. James Park in the first league meeting this season.

The Verdict:

This is another really tricky game to call and much depends on Newcastle's attitude. If the visitors pitch up in the same mood as they were for the Arsenal game on Monday it will get really interesting.

I will go with 2-3 goals in total and additional interest in the shape of Cornet to pop up any time for Burnley

Bets: Total goals, 2-3 at 21/20
