Goodforthegame Predictions:

Norwich v Watford (Friday 8th November)

Round 12 starts with a clash between the bottom 2 sides in the standings. Norwich lost 2-0 at Brighton last week and their last 6 matches have seen them earn just 1 point. They have 7 log points, 6 of which were earned at home with a win over Newcastle (3-1) followed by a a shock victory over Manchester City (3-2).

After 11 games Watford remain the only top flight side without a win. They have 5 draws and 6 defeats against their name and remain bottom of the log, 2 points adrift of Norwich and 6 shy of fourth bottom Everton. Last week's 2-1 home defeat to Chelsea ended a run of 3 successive draws and away from home Watford have taken a point from visits to Newcastle and Spurs (both 1-1).

Prediction: Norwich 1-1 Watford

Chelsea v Crystal Palace (Saturday 9th November)

Chelsea made it 5 league wins in a row when they won 2-1 at Watford last week and they finished the round in fourth place, 8 points off the pace being set by Liverpool but 6 clear of fifth placed Arsenal. There is still room for improvement in their home record which comprises of 2 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat.

Palace came unstuck at home to in form Leicester last week, going down 2-0 and they remain on 15 points from 11 outings. They have now lost 2 and drawn 1 of their last 3, all of which were against top 5 opposition. The tough sequence of fixtures continues with this visit to Stamford Bridge, a ground where Palace lost 3-1 last season and Chelsea also won the return at Selhurst Park (1-0).

Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Palace

Southampton v Everton (Saturday 9th November)

Another big game affecting the drop zone and the Saints finished the previous round of matches third from bottom in the standings, 3 points and 1 place shy of their oppoents here. They did make Manchester City work hard for a 2-1 win at The Etihad Stadium last week but their most recent home game ended in a disastrous 9-0 hiding at the hands of Leicester. Southampton have managed just 1 point from 5 home games, a 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

Everton's late equalizer at home to Spurs last week marginally improved their situation but they now hit the road again and their record outside of Merseyside is poor. Since drawing 0-0 at Palace on the opening weekend The Toffess have lost each of their last 4 road trips, most recently 3-2 on the South Coast at Brighton.

In last season's head to heads Everton won 2-1 at Goodison Park but lost by the same scoreline at St. Mary's.

Prediction: Southampton 2-1 Everton

Leicester v Arsenal (Saturday 9th November)

Leicester's 2-0 win at Palace last week saw them finish the round in third place, 2 points behind Manchester City and 8 shy of Liverpool. They return to the King Power Stadium where they are unbeaten with 4 wins and 1 draw. Wolves (0-0) are the only visiting side to avoid defeat at this venue this season whilst Spurs, who lost 2-1 here, are the biggest of the scalps so far.

Arsenal had to settle for a 1-1 draw at home to Wolves to remain in fifth place but they are now all of 6 points behind a top 4 spot. The Gunners won their first road trip of the season, 1-0 at Newcastle and subsequent away days have delivered score draws at Manchester United and Watford and defeats at Liverpool (3-1) and Sheffield United (1-0).

Leicester won this fixture 3-0 last season after Arsenal had won the first meeting 3-1 at The Emirates.

Prediction: Leicester 3-1 Arsenal

Wolves v Aston Villa (Sunday 10th November)

Wolves are unbeaten in their last 6 league games, the most recent of which was a 1-1 draw at Arsenal last week. With 7 draws from 11 league outings Wolves are the draw specialists of the top flight and although they have found the net in every home game, a 2-0 win over Watford is their only 3 point haul in front of their own supporters.

Villa threatened a major shock at home to Liverpool last week, leading from the 21st minute until conceding the equalizer on 87 minutes and what proved to be the winner in injury time. They were beaten 3-0 at Manchester City in their most recent road trip and with 11 points they are 2 shy of Wolves. Villa have lost 4 and won 1 of their 5 road trips although the victory was an impressive one, 5-1 at Norwich.

The teams met in the EFL Cup last month and Villa won a home fixture 2-1 although Wolves made wholesale changes to the line up they will field here.

Prediction: Wolves 1-1 Villa

Liverpool v Manchester City (Sunday 10th November)

Liverpool's late comeback for a 2-1 win at Villa maintained the status quo at the top of the log. They come into what promises to be one of the defining games of the title race with a 6 point lead over City and an unbeaten league record comprising of 10 wins and 1 draw.

The draw came away to Manchester United but they have been foot perfect at Anfield despite the lack of a clean sheet in the 5 home league games of the current campaign.

City also left if pretty late to see off Southampton in Manchester last week. They have won 4 of 5 EPL road trips alongside a shock 3-2 defeat at Norwich. City have found the net at least twice in all 5 of their EPL away fixtures.

The teams met in the Community Shield at Wembley in August and the traditional curtain raiser to the season saw City win on penalty kicks after the game finished locked up at 1-1.

In the head to heads in the 2018/19 campaign the teams drew 0-0 at Anfield and City won 2-1 in Manchester and went on to pip Liverpool to the title.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-2 Man City
