Everton

Frank Lampard's first Premier League game in charge of Everton ended in a 3-1 defeat at Newcastle on Tuesday of this week. Deadline day recruits Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek both came off the bench and  Demarai Gray and Yerry Mina had to be replaced after picking up knocks whilst Calvert Lewin was an unused substitute.

The defeat leaves Everton just 3 points above third bottom Norwich although they have played 1 game fewer than 3 of the 4 teams below them.

Lampard's first game in charge saw the team respond with a 4-1 home win over Brentford in the FA Cup last weekend.

Leeds:

Leeds picked up a useful point from a 3-3 draw at Aston Villa on Wednesday. James opened the scoring but they conceded 3 goals in 13 minutes before James second reduced the deficit at half time. Llorente secured a point with the only goal of the second half.

Leeds had won their previous away fixture 3-2 at West Ham but they were subsequently beaten 1-0 at home by Newcastle. They are 4 points better off than Everton but they have played 1 game more.

The Verdict:

The Villa v Leeds game in midweek was a cracker and whilst it might be too much to expect a thriller of that nature this should also be a good watch. It looks a tricky one to call in terms of the result but I quite fancy a score draw.

For an anytime goalscorer pick Dan James seems to be really finding his feet at Leeds and he can pop up anytime.

Finally I can see scope for a reasonable corner count, more so if Calvert-Lewin starts or at least gets decent minutes and I will go with the home side to be awarded at least 6.

Bets: Both teams to score an the match to end in a draw? (yes) at 34/10

Anytime goalscorer Dan James at 32/10

Everton total corners over 5.5 at 11/10
