liverpool1819Thursday night's English Premier League football sees Liverpool go in search of a much needed boost when they host Burnley at Anfield and we take a look at selected betting markets with @Playabets.

Liverpool 1/5 Draw 5.76/1 Burnley 13/1

Depending on how the two Manchester clubs get on in their respective games a day before this match kicks off Liverpool will be anything from 4 to 6 points off top spot. A run of 4 league games without a win (3 draws and a 1-0 defeat at Southampton) has seen the defending champions concede ground in the title race and they have scored just once in that sequence.

Despite a 1-1 draw with West Brom and then a 0-0 stalemate with Manchester United last weekend EPL home form remains formidable with 7 wins and 2 draws and Liverpool found the net at least twice in winning their first 7 EPL home fixtures this season.

Playabets make Liverpool a 3.75/1 chance to win the title this season with Manchester City favourites at 11/20, Manchester United at 6.84/1 and it's 20/1 and upwards the rest.

Burnley are fourth from bottom and they come into the game after suffering back to back 1-0 defeats at home to Manchester United and away at West Ham. They have won just once away from home, drawing 3 and losing 5 and goals have been scarce with just 4 registered on their travels.

When visiting top sides this season Burnley have lost 4-2 at Leicester and 5-0 at Manchester City and their only 3 point haul came from a 1-0 win at Arsenal who were out of sorts when they met in mid December.

Recent Head to Head.

Last season Burnley drew 1-1 on this ground, right at the tail end of the campaign and an earlier meeting at Turf Moor was won 3-0 by Liverpool.

Burnley have contributed to the scoring in each of their last 4 EPL visits to Anfield.

More Markets

A game of 3 goals or more in total is priced at around 0.53/1 and it's 1.22/1 for both sides to find the net.

Liverpool are 0.87/1 to find the net at least 3 tines.

The Verdict

The lack of goals at both ends in recent Liverpool games may be of concern for punters looking for a high scoring game and Burnley's problems in the goal scoring department when they travel are very evident from this season's stats.

It's not the best of betting heats and I will speculate in the anytime goalscorer market. Liverpool's front 3 are predictably short prices and on nothing more than gut feel I will give the vote to Alcantara, who I was very impressed with against United last time out, to pop up anytime.

Bet: Anytime goalscorer Thiago Alcantara at 5/1
