Leeds are back in the English Premier League and their first match of the season could hardly be tougher as they head to Anfield to take on champions Liverpool on Saturday.
Liverpool coasted to the title last season, finishing with 99 points, 18 more than second placed Manchester City. They had the title wrapped up before lockdown which goes some way to explaining a dip in their results at the tail end of the season. They did miss out in cup competitions in 2019/20 including the Champions League although their absence from those play offs will have afforded some key players an extra rest. The Community Sheld against Arsenal 2 weeks ago finished all square at 1-1 with Arsenal winning the penalty shoot out.
Full back Kostas Tsimikas has joined from Olympiakos and Lallana and Lovren are the most notable of the departures. In the current betting for the 2020/21 EPL season sees them trading at around 2/1 to defend their title, behind Manchester City who are 17/20. Mo Salah is 5/1 favourite to be top goalscorer and Sadio Mane is 14/1 in the same market.
Leeds won the Championship last season and they are back in the top flight for the first time since 2003/04. Marcelo Bielsa is the coach behind the revival of their fortunes and with the team playing a good brand of football hopes are high they can be competitive at this level.
Big money has been spent on Rodrigo, a striker from Valencia and his form will be crucial to how they go as the source of regular goals from the forwards in the Championship squad is less obvious.
Leeds are 14/1 to finish in the top 6 and 7/2 to be relegated and their position on the betting board would suggest a mid table finish is envisaged.
In the early betting Liverpool are 13/50 to win the game with the draw at 21/4 and Leeds are 19/2.
It's 9/10 for both teams to find the net and 5/10 for a game of 3 goals or more in total.

I can see Leeds being very competitive this season and whilst this is a huge task, it might not be the worst time of the season to visit Anfield. Leeds to contribute to the scoring is the pick.
Both teams to score? 9/10
