Liverpool

Liverpool come off back to back games against Manchester City, drawing the league fixture 2-2 in Manchester and then booking an FA Cup final date (with Chelsea) with a 3-2 win in the semi final at Wembley on Saturday.

Prior to the draw at City Liverpool had reeled off 10 straight wins in the league and the last 5 of those were all accompanied by a clean sheet. City's next game is at home to Brighton on Wednesday of this week and with Liverpool just 1 point behind them in the standings and with a better goal difference, this is an opportunity to go top of log, at least for 24 hours or so.

After this Liverpool's EPL run in comprises of the following games; Everton (h), Newcastle (a), Spurs (h), Villa (a), Southampton (a), Wolves (h). They will also contest a UCL semi final against Villarreal over 2 legs.

Liverpool have already won the League Cup final and remain in the hunt for 4 pieces of silverware and they can be backed at 18/10 to win the EPL title this season with City 4/10 favourites.

Man United

The remainder of United's season is all about claiming a top 4 finish and in that regard they had a good weekend, beating Norwich 3-2 in a home game whilst their rivals were dropping points. United come into this game in fifth spot, 3 points behind fourth placed Spurs (who have a better goal difference) and level on points with Arsenal who have a game in hand. After this United will visit Arsenal at the weekend.

United's two most recent road trips comprise of a 4-1 defeat at City in the derby and more recently a 1-0 loss on Merseyside to Everton.

Recent Head to Head

The first league meeting this season was staged at Old Trafford in October and Liverpool cantered to a 5-0 win, scoring 4 in the first half and Salah completed his hat trick just after the break before Liverpool “declared”.

Last season's league meetings saw the game at Anfield finish without a goal and Liverpool won 4-2 at Old Trafford.

The last 7 league meetings have delivered 3 draws and 4 Liverpool wins. United's last league win at Anfield came in January 2016.

The Betting

Liverpool are currently 4/10 to win the game with the draw at 4.25/1 and United can be backed at 6.25/1

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 0.53/1 and it's 8/10 for both teams to score.

Mo Salah is 28/10 to score the first goal and 9/10 to score any time

Ronaldo is 13/2 to score the first goal and 9/4 to score any time

The Verdict:

Every game seems like a cup final for Liverpool whilst after weekend defeats for the North London clubs United are back in with some sort of chance of a top 4 finish.

Since their draw at City Liverpool have been able to rotate players to some degree in the Benfica game and in the FA Cup semi final which leads me to believe they will claim maximum points but I do give United a shout of contributing to the scoring.

Bets: Liverpool to win and both teams to score? (yes) at 18/10
