Man City

City top the table but their lead over Liverpool is now just 1 point with both teams having played 30 matches. Their only defeat in the last 20 league games came at home to Spurs last month and in their most recent home game they beat Manchester United 4-1.

City's run in comprises of this match and the following fixtures; Brighton (h), Watford (h), Leeds (a), Newcastle (h), West Ham (a), Aston Villa (h) and they are waiting on a date for Wolves (a). There is also a trip to Atletico Madrid in midweek where City have a 1-0 lead in their Champions League quarter final and next week they will clash with Liverpool again in the FA Cup semi finals.

City's odds to win the title are 9/20

Liverpool have reeled off 10 straight wins in the league and the last 5 were all accompanied by a clean sheet.

After this Liverpool's EPL run in comprises of the following games; Man United (h), Everton (h), Newcastle (a), Spurs (h), Villa (a), Southampton (a), Wolves (h).

Liverpool will host Benfica in the UCL quarter finals in midweek, a tie they lead 3-1 after the first leg.

Liverpool have already won the League Cup final and remain in the hunt for 4 pieces of silverware and they can be backed at 1.65/1 to win the EPL title this season.

Recent Head to Head

The first league meeting this season was staged at Anfield in October and it finished 2-2 with City twice coming from behind.

Last season's league meeting in Manchester finished 1-1 and the return at Anfield, at a time when Liverpool's form had collapsed, saw City win 4-1.

Backers of both teams to score ? (yes) and over 2.5 goals have collected in 5 of the last 6 league meetings.

The Betting

City are currently even money to win the game with the draw at 11/4 and Liverpool can be backed at 24/10

A game of 3 goals or more is priced at 0.68/1 and it's 0.63/1 for both teams to score.

Mahrez is 9/2 to score the first goal and 16/10 to score any time

Mo Salah is 5/1 to score the first goal and 18/10 to score any time

The Verdict:

City look to have the more favourable run in so if they win here the title would be theirs to lose but with two terrific sides on view I would go with a draw in the match result market. I think we will see goals and I'll speculate with a correct score play of 2-2.

As for the anytime goalscorers 18/10 for Salah looks decent enough for me whilst De Bruyne, who got the only goal in midweek against Atletico, is my choice for City.

Bets: Correct score 2-2 at 11.5/1

Anytime goalscorer Salah at 18/10

Anytime goalscorer De Bruyne at 19/10
