Manchester United

United will be delighted to get back to Old Trafford. They have lost 3 of their last 4 matches, all of which were road trips and they conceded plenty of goals in those 2 most recent games, at Liverpool (4-0) and Arsenal (3-1). They did beat Norwich 3-2 in their most recent home game but their chances of a top 4 finish have reduced considerably. United come into this game 6 points behind fourth placed Arsenal and 4 behind Spurs, both of whom have a game in hand.

Chelsea have blown hot and cold of late, a point illustrated by last week's London derby matches which saw them lose 4-2 at home to Arsenal followed by a 1-0 win in another home game against West Ham. They remain in third spot, where they have been for some time, and whilst the top 2 are over the hill and far away Chelsea have 5 points worth of daylight over Arsenal and have a game in hand. Chelsea still have a FA Cup final date with Liverpool to look forward to at the end of the season.

Recent Head to Head

The first league meeting this season was staged at Stamford Bridge in late November and it finished 1-1

Last season's league meetings both finished without a goal.

The Betting

The Verdict:

Erik ten Hag will take over the United coaching role in June and he looks likely to be competing in the Europa League rather than the Champions League. There will be a big shake up on the playing side and that could also be the case at Chelsea to some extent as they await the completion of a takeover.

It's two big clubs but this one doesn't give me that big match feeling and hence it's a tricky call. The draw has been the way to go in the last 3 head to heads and that could be the case again.
