Spurs 2/1 Draw 2.43/1 Liverpool 14/10

Coming into the midweek program Spurs were 1 point behind Liverpool in the standings and 7 points behind league leaders Manchester United. Given the Manchester clubs and Leicester (who occupy the top 3 positions) are in action earlier in midweek the picture will have changed significantly by matchday. Spurs do have a game in hand on Liverpool and some of the other top sides.

In earlier home fixtures against the stronger teams Spurs lost 1-0 to Everton at the start of the season. They beat Manchester City and Arsenal (both 2-0) and lost to Leicester (2-0).

Liverpool's winless run of league matches now spans 5 games (3 draws, 2 defeats) the most recent of which was a shock 1-0 loss at home to Burnley, ending a long unbeaten run at Anfield. Points were also dropped in recent road trips to Newcastle (drew 0-0) and Southampton (lost 1-0) and Liverpool haven't scored a league goal since they were held 1-1 at home by West Brom.

At the weekend Liverpool did return to goalscoring form but an FA Cup fourth round tie at Manchester United still ended in a 3-2 defeat.

Recent Head to Head.

The teams met at Anfield as recently as 26th December. Salah opened the scoring for Liverpool on 26 minutes but Son quickly had Spurs level. The decisive goal came from Firmino in injury time as Liverpool edged it 2-1.

Liverpool have won away to Spurs in each of the last 2 seasons.

More Markets

A game of 3 goals or more in total is priced at around 8/10 and it's 13/20 for both sides to find the net.

Kane and Son are both trading at 4.80 to score the first goal of the game and Salah is favourite in that market at 3.70.

The Verdict

Tactics, particularly from Spurs, will have a say but I expect a pretty open game and in the goals markets I will look to 3 or more in total.

Additional interest comes in the bookings markets. I can see Kane and Son giving the Liverpool back line a hard time and 5/2 for Fabinho to pick up a yellow card caught my eye.

Bets: Over 2.5 goals at 8/10

To get a yellow card Fabinho at 5/2
