Recent FA Cup Form:

Wolves started their cup run at home to Liverpool who rested a number of regular starters and Wolves came through with a 2-1 win. In the fourth round they needed 2 bites at the cherry against League 1 side Shrewsbury and after scrambling their way to a 2-2 draw away from home, Wolves edged the replay 3-2. In the fifth round Wolves were drawn away to Championship side Bristol City who were going well at the time but the Premier League side edged it 1-0 and belief is growing that they could go all the way.

Current League Form:

Wolves are currently seventh in the Premier League, a position of some comfort which allows them to focus all available resources on this cup run. Their better performances this season have come against the top 6, often away from home but they have drawn with Manchester City and beaten Chelsea on this ground this season.

Man United:

Recent FA Cup Form:

United’s cup run started with a 2-0 home win over Championship strugglers Reading and since then they have come through 2 tough visits to Premier League rivals. In the fourth round they were drawn away to Arsenal and they came through with a 3-1 victory whilst in the previous round they won 1-0 at Chelsea. United were runners up in this competition last season and this is one of two possibilities for silverware in the current campaign with the Champions League being the other.

Current League Form:

United’s unbeaten Premier League run under Solksjaer came to an end when they were beaten 2-0 at Arsenal last weekend. They remain locked in a battle with Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea for the 2 remaining top 4 finishing positions with just 4 points covering those 4 sides.

Recent Head to Head

The teams have met once this season, a league game at Old Trafford in September which finished 1-1.

This should be a good game with Wolves able to give this a full go and United with a proven appetite for knockout football this season. I really fancy both sides to find the net.
