England 4/10 Draw 7/2 Slovakia 17/2

England were hardly convincing but they topped Group C unbeaten with 1 win and 2 draws to finish 2 points clear of Denmark and Slovenia whilst Serbia were fourth and they have returned home.

England played out a 0-0 draw with Slovenia in their final group outing. Earlier Harry Kane gave them the lead in a 1-1 draw with Denmark and in their first action of the tournament an early Bellingham goal was enough to see off Serbia 1-0.

Slovakia came through the ultra tight Group E where all 4 nations finished on 4 points. Goal difference saw them take third place behind Romania and Belgium and fourth placed Ukraine, despite finishing with more points than the third placed finishers in other groups, were eliminated.

Ondrej Duda scored Slovakia's goal in a 1-1 draw with Romania in their final group match, a result which was enough to send both sides through. In earlier games Ivan Schranz gave Slovakia an early lead against Ukraine but Ukraine hit back in the second half to win 2-1. First time out Slovakia caused one of the biggest shocks of the tournament when they beat Belgium 1-0. Schranz needed just 7 minutes to open the scoring for Slovakia and they rode their luck as the match wore on but held out for a famous win.

The Verdict:

Slovakia's win over Belgium sounds a warning to an England side who are packed with talent but are struggling in terms of performance levels so far.

I'm done with expecting England to cut loose but will pin my hopes on the anytime goalscorer market and Saka, who had one chalked off against Slovenia gets the vote.

Spain 1 / 5 Draw 57/10 Georgia 12.5/1

Spain were the only nation to emerge from the group stage with a 100% record. They finished 5 points clear of Group B runners up Italy, third placed Croatia qualified with just 2 points and Albania missed out.

Spain kept their record of winning with a clean sheet going when an early goal from Ferran Torres was enough to beat Albania (1-0). They made wholesale changes for that game after their last 16 spot had been sealed when own goal was enough to secure a 1-0 win against Italy in their second outing. Spain had put an early marker down with a 3-0 win over Croatia in their first action of the tournament thanks to first half goals from Alvaro Morata, Fabian Ruiz and Dani Carvajal.

Georgia are in dreamland after qualifying as a best third place finisher from Group E. Portugal and Turkey finished on 6 points, Georgia earned 4 and Czech Republic were eliminated.

Georgia turned Portugal over with a 2-0 win in their final group match with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia giving them the lead after just 2 minutes and a penalty from Georges Mikautadze was the final goal of the game. Mikautadze also gave Georgia the lead from the penalty spot against Czech Republic in their second match but it finished 1-1. Georgia's debut in a major tournament ended in a 3-1 defeat to Turkey. They fell behind after 25 minutes, Mikautadze made history just 7 minutes later with the equalizer but Turkey were the more clinical in the second half.

The Verdict:

Without taking anything away from Georgia's amazing win over Portugal it's hard to see a repeat against a Spain side who have impressed and took the opportunity to rotate for their final group match.

Georgia will be content to let Spain dominate possession and look to hit them on the break but I'll go with Spain to score in both halves here.
