Boca Juniors 9/2 Draw 29/10 Benfica 0.62/1
This game kicks off at 00:00 is it's the second match in Group C. The first action in this quartet saw Bayern Munich dismantle New Zealand amateurs Auckland City 10-0 so you have to think it's a 3 horse race for the 2 qualification places for the knockout rounds.
Boca finished sixth in the Argentine to flight whilst Benfica finished as runners up to Sporting in Portugal's title race and the Taca de Portugal whilst in Europe they made it to the Ro16 in the Champions League.
Looking at domestic form for pointers 6 of Boca's last 9 league games have seen backers of under 2.5 goals collect whilst in Portugal Benfica were free scoring, registering 84 goals in 34 league games whilst conceding 28.
I've little knowledge of Boca in all honesty but you would expect a full bloodied effort from the Argentines. I'll take my chances on a tight game with 1-2 goals in total.
Bet: Multigoal 1-2 at 23/20 with Sportingbet
At 03:00 Flamengo of Brazil take on Esperance of Tunisia in Group D. Flamengo are trading at around 1 / 3 to make a winning start with the draw at 4/1 and Esperance can be backed at around 8.25/1 in a match where I will take a watching brief only.
Fluminense 4.75/1 Draw 32/10 Dortmund 11/20
This game kicks off at 18:00 (SA time) and it's the first game in Group F which also includes Ulsan (South Korea) and our very own Mamelodi Sundowns.
Fluminense's league form in Brazil suggests they are pretty closely matched with Palmeiras who played out a 0-0 draw with FC Porto in Group A of this competition on Monday.
Dortmund's recent record in major European competitions is more than useful, runners up in the UCL in 2024 and quarter finalists in 2025. They finished a distant fourth to Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this season where their best form came at the tail end of the campaign.
I'll go with Dortmund's firepower to register 2 or 3 goals.
Bet: Dortmund multi goals, 2-3 at 21/20 with Sportingbet
The final match on Tuesday kicks off at 21:00 and sees River Plate of Argentina take on Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds in Group E. River Plate are currently 6/10 favourites with the draw at 3/1 and Red Diamonds are 9/2 and this is another game we will swerve from a betting perspective.
