PGA Tour Travelers Championship

Venue: TPC at River Highlands, Connecticut
Dates: Thursday 23rd – Sunday 27th June 2022

Tournament Preview

The PGA Tour continues with the LIV Golf Series continuing to coax some of the biggest names in the world to their side and putting the future of the PGA Tour in doubt. The Travelers Championship is once again taking place in Connecticut, having been one of the most prominent events on the tour since its inception in 1952 and it once again possesses a stellar field. Lee Trevino, Bubba Watson, and Phil Mickelson are just three on a long list of impressing winning alumni at TPC River Highlands and with over $7 million on offer within the prize pot – there is plenty to play for in Connecticut this week.

Betting Preview

Outright Winner

The PGA Tour always hosts some fantastic events and with plenty to play for, it should set up an excellent week of golf Connecticut:

Rory McIlroy – 10/1

Rory McIlroy came roaring back to form earlier this month and with a decent week at the US Open last time out, he should be in contention again here.

Scottie Scheffler – 11/1

World number one and Masters champion Scottie Scheffler is a man in sublime form and following his good run at the US Open last time out, few would rule him out here.

Justin Thomas – 12/1

USPGA champion Justin Thomas is always in amongst it when it matters and the playing conditions here at the Travelers Championship should suit him.

Patrick Cantlay – 14/1

Few players in world golf strike the ball as cleanly as Patrick Cantlay and he will be up for the challenge here, against some of the best players in the world.

Jordan Spieth – 25/1

It has been a real renaissance for Jordan Spieth over the past 12 months and he will be a man that could set the bench mark here at the Travelers Championship this weekend.

1st Round Leader

With players still trying to find momentum within their respective seasons, getting off to a fast start could be hugely important here in Connecticut:

Sam Burns – 30/1

Sam Burns has been one of the success stories on the PGA Tour this season and his tendency to get off to fast starts could assist him here.

Tony Finau – 40/1

As a permanent fixture in the world’s top 20, Tony Finau is such a consistent performer and with plenty of prize money on the line here, he looks to be a serious candidate from the off.

Top 10 Finish

With so many good players assembled here in Connecticut, getting into the winning enclosure could be tough but there are plenty of candidates to finish in the top 10 come Sunday:

Xander Schauffele – 2/1

Olympic champion Xander Schauffele is a player capable of mixing it with the big boys on his day and a top 10 finish is well within his grasp here.

Marc Leishman – 5/1

Australian Marc Leishman won this event back in 2012 and he has looked in decent form over the past few weeks.
