Tournament Preview

The Valspar Championship continues on the PGA Tour in 2022, having been absent from the calendar in 2020 due to COVID 19. All of the biggest names in golf are once again present at one of the most picturesque venues on the PGA Tour and there is nearly $7 million available in the prize pot. With the Valspar Championship having been a flagship event on the tour for over 20 years, the list of previous winners is impressive with Jordan Spieth, Luke Donald and Paul Casey all having claimed the crown in previous seasons.

Plenty of the biggest names on the PGA Tour feature here in Florida and they will be keen to get their hands on some silverware here:-

Young Norwegian Viktor Hovland has been in superb form on the PGA Tour this season and he will be desperate to continue putting prize money in the bank here.

Former world number one Dustin Johnson hasn’t been in the best form of late, but he is still one of the best golfers on the planet and is always hard to beat.

Olympic champion Xander Schauffele is always a strong shout in events such as these, with his immense scoring power enabling him to blaze clear of the field at any given moment.

Mexican Abraham Ancer is a man in good form so far this season and his tendency to get off to fast starts could be beneficial for him this week.

Swede Alex Noren has made a successful transition onto the PGA Tour in recent years and his game could be a very good fit for conditions here at the Valspar Championship.
