Tuesday's racing comes from Fairview and Handlanger chances his arm with a win bet in the wide open Race 7.
Fairview (Polytrack), Race 7, Due Off 16:00
MR 66 HANDICAP (F&M), 1300m
All of 15 runners are carded for Race 7 on Tuesday and at the time of writing (Monday lunchtime) 7 of the field were priced between 4/1 and 10/1 in the betting. After giving this race plenty of consideration the vote goes to No 3, Perfect Angel.
As the above paragraph suggests finding the winner of this contest is no easy task but our selection has plenty going for it. First up a draw of 3 is a major plus, trainer Juan Nel has engaged the services of Richard Fourie Perfect Angel went close over course and distance 3 runs back on 26th November, beaten 0.5 lengths. That was the second time Perfect Angel had been 0.5 second at this course and on both those occasions she wasn't drawn as well as she is on Tuesday.
Admittedly things didn't go to plan in a subsequent C&D event on Christmas Eve but last time out in a much stronger race than this on the turf over 1400m she ran a more than creditable third. A repeat of that performance would give Perfect Angel a decent chance of chalking up her second career win and her first at Fairview.
At the time of writing Perfect Angel was topping the betting boards at 4/1 although one would hope for a bit more “blue sky” in that price by the time they jump.
