Argentina:

A week after they registered a first ever win over New Zealand, Argentina launched a comeback against the Wallabies to draw 15-15 last Saturday. Once again Nicolas Sanchez was the hero for Los Pumas as he scored all of their points from the boot as his side clawed back a deficit that had reached 9 points at one stage. Both sides had chances to win it at the death with Australia missing a penalty and Argentina threatening a breakaway try.

Argentina's 25-15 victory over the All Blacks came in their first action of the tournament, a game where they were given more than 20 points start on the handicap. They were also underdogs last week against the Wallabies but all 3 nations now have 6 log points and Argentina have a game in hand.

The final match of the tournament sees Los Pumas square off against the Wallabies next weekend.

New Zealand:

Since thrashing the Wallabies by a record margin (43-5) in the opening match of the tournament the All Blacks have been hugely disappointing. They lost the return to the Wallabies 24-22 a week later and the aforementioned defeat to Argentina attracted huge criticism.

Despite the log being so tight the betting to win the tournament has New Zealand favourites at 2/11 with Australia a 6/1 chance and you can get around 9/1 against Los Pumas. That is down to points difference being in the All Blacks favour, +26 to Argentina's +10 and the Wallabies are -36 ahead of their final game of the tournament. Any sort of All Blacks win here would see either Australia or Argentina looking for a landslide victory when they meet in the final match next week.

Betting Angle

Argentina are tasked with a third energy sapping encounter in a row and I like the All Blacks to cover this handicap. New Zealand will be hurting from the two recent defeats and they have often bounced back from a poor display.

NZ minus is the handicap play.
