The Format:

 

We have 20 nations competing and there are four pools, each comprising of five teams. The top two finishers in each pool will advance to the quarter finals and it's knockout rugby all the way to the final on Saturday 2nd November.

 

RWC 2019 Pools:

 

Pool A: Ireland, Scotland, Japan, Samoa, Russia

Pool B: New Zealand, South Africa, Italy, Canada, Namibia

Pool C: England, France, Argentina, Tonga, USA

Pool D: Australia, Wales, Fiji, Georgia, Uruguay

 

Past Winners:

 

Only four nations have been crowned champions. New Zealand have won three times including the last two editions. Australia and South Africa have two wins against their name and England have one. The bridesmaids have been France who have reached three finals and lost on each occasion.
