Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: BERNIE(4)
Jockey: Aldo DOMEYER- Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

BERNIE is the form entrant after three consecutive seconds, the latest over this c & d in a competiti- ve field four weeks ago. The blinkers could do the trick for the best drawn chestnut colt who can go one better, SHADOW WARRIOR didn't enjoy setting the gallop in his uncharacteristically poor last run but his wide draw should force his jockey to resort to coming from behind. The Dynasty gelding had promising prior form and he can certainly cause an upset

Race 2: TALK OF THE TOWN(11)
Jockey:  Grant V/NIEKERK - Trainer: Joey RAMSDEN

TALK OF THE TOWN wasn't fancied when he caught the eye on his promising debut over this c & d two weeks ago. The chestnut colt was understandably green but ran on strongly for a close 3rd despite jumping from the worst draw in that big field. He would have come on immensely from the experience and should go really close with his in-form jockey engaged. The son of Var is well drawn at gate 3. The first timers must be closely followed in the betting market with BIG FISH the pick of them.

Race 3: BOBBY DAZZLER(3)
Jockey: Greg CHEYNE- Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

The blinkers made a huge impact on the grey gelding BOBBY DAZZLER who produced a powerful finish to get back to winning ways over this c & d four weeks ago. He was hiked a hefty six pounds and faces stronger opposition today but the son of Pathfork still has much more to offer. He should prove equal to the task at hand.

Race 7: OUR EMPEROR(6)
Jockey: Corne ORFFER- Trainer: Brett CRAWFORD

OUR EMPEROR is certainly on the up and though he was soundly thrashed by a proven stayer in a feature last time, he still finished comfortably ahead of some useful seasoned campaigners. The lightly raced four-year old completed impressive back-to-back wins when quickening smartly prior to that and he has plenty more scope for improvement. This shorter trip should be up his alley and the Dynasty gelding is favoured in a likely slow run affair where he can show that smart turn of foot.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY

Race 5: OAKLEY COURT(4)
Jockey: Anthony ANDREWS- Trainer: Greg ENNION

OAKLEY COURT has been thereabouts in recent efforts and she should be competitive once more after a recent two pound drop in her merit rating. She is 2kgs better off with GLENNIE who finished under two lengths in front of her last time out. The latter has an obvious affinity for this track and certainly deserves strong consideration but her wide draw is a definite concern
