Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 2: PARTY CRASHER(5)
Jockey:   R Fourie  - Trainer: G Kotzen

Just five four-year old fillies head to post for this exciting handicap where the tempo should be decent and a close finish is expected. PARTY CRASHER has shown decent potential and has surprisingly gone exactly one year without a victory to her name. In fact, that triumph came over this c & d and trainer Glen Kotzen's charge is a huge contender on her peak showing. She is effective with handy tactics.

Race 4: MERAKI(2)
Jockey: A Domeyer  - Trainer: C Bass-Robinson

The imported MERAKI is progressing steadily and this longer run-in will suit the son of Canford Cliffs who stayed on for 3rd over seven furlongs four weeks ago. The runner-up Love Happens boosted the form- line with a subsequent victory and the extra furlong should be right up his alley. He usually finishes well so his wide draw isn't an issue.

TOP BET

Race 5: KAMAISHI(1)
Jockey:  M Byleveld - Trainer: M Robinson

KAMAISHI has enjoyed the step-up to the mile in recent performances and she stayed on for 2nd two weeks ago. This longer run-in will suit her perfectly and she is easily the pick of the entrants. The daughter of Tiger Ridge, OLOYE, has shown decent improvement since being equipped with blinkers and the form of her last start has worked out well. She has to unfortunately negotiate an awkward barrier position once again but is progressive and can threaten the first selection

Race 9: MACDUFF(3)
Jockey:  A Marcus  - Trainer: J Ramsden

MACDUFF is another who represents the Power Grid formline which should be followed from the two prior events. This imported chestnut was finishing well in that six furlong sprint and he undoubtedly prefers today's extra furlong. The son of Street Cry has top jockey Marcus in the saddle and the pair exit gate 1.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY

Race 8: PILLAR OF HERCULES(3)
Jockey:  A Marcus  - Trainer: V H Marshall

It could pay to follow the progress of Green Plains in the prior event as the first selection here PILLAR OF HERCULES finished 4th in the competitive six furlong sprint in his comeback run three weeks ago. The Captain Al gelding should be fitter now and he has shown to be capable over this shorter trip.
