Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: TOWNSHIP MELODY(4)
Jockey: Bernard FAYD'HERBE  - Trainer: Justin SNAITH

TOWNSHIP MELODY finished runner-up in her last three starts before an eleven week break and she has more to offer. The 3rd placed finisher in her recent attempt was Heart Of A Legend who comfortably shed her maiden tag subsequently. The daughter of Pathfork gets the narrow verdict in a competitive line-up.

TOP BET

Race 2: PACIFIC CHESTNUT(6)
Jockey: Louis BURKE - Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

PACIFIC CHESTNUT relished the rise in ground as he made eye-catching late progress for 4th over ten furlongs on this track behind runaway winner Zanzibarian two weeks ago. The chestnut gelding finished just under one length adrift of the well-tried WILLIAM THE BRAVE whom he now meets on 5kgs better terms, thanks largely to the 4kg apprentice allowance. The inmate from the Bass-Robinson yard should enjoy the extra two furlongs and he has definite claims of reversing the form.

Race 3: RED EIGHT(4)
Jockey:  MJ BYLEVELD- Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

The speedy and ultra-consistent RED EIGHT should easily overcome his unfavourable barrier on his return to this track and can go one better than last time. That said, he will have a fight on his hands as he finished just one length ahead of the lightly raced bay colt FINAL CHANCE in his penultim- ate run over this c & d

Race 7: SILVER MASTER(2)
Jockey:  Aldo DOMEYER  - Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON

The four-year old SILVER MASTER is well-handicapped on his peak showing and looks set to reverse the neck deficit he suffered to the game frontrunner MTOROSHANGA (1.5kgs worse off) over this c & d two weeks ago. The chestnut gelding is drawn best of all and he is the mount of the stable jockey. The latter was returning from a 17 week absence so should be fitter and can still pose a danger. He is drawn alongside the first selection.

Race 4: IMPERIAL CHESTNUT(5)
Jockey:  MJ BYLEVELD  - Trainer: Vaughan MARSHALL

IMPERIAL CHESTNUT had two below-par efforts at Durbanville but should be an entirely different proposition on her return to this track. Of course she posted her career best effort over this c & d when she flew late for a narrow 2nd earlier this campaign. Her good draw is a major plus
