TOP BET

Race 2: HOLIDAY ROMANCE(10)
Jockey: Callan MURRAY - Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

The well-bred HOLIDAY ROMANCE hasn't raced for 17 weeks since her pleasing debut behind some very useful sorts that include Twelve Oaks and subsequent Grade 1 winner Brave Mary. This daughter of Dynasty would have strengthened during the rest and she could be worth following this term. The big threat could come from a few first timers in the form of GO THULI GO and TAMARINA from the Tarry and Alec Laird yard's respectively.

Race 4: CAVALLERIA (GER)(5)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

The imported CAVALLERIA was quietly fancied when she finished strongly for 3rd on debut over this c & d three weeks ago. Admittedly, that was in a workrider's event but the German import is entitled to have progressed and has obvious scope. She is her yard's solitary entrant on the card.

Race 5: PLUM BRITISH(2)
Jockey: Mathew THACKERAY - Trainer: Paul PETER

PLUM BRITISH has galloped relentlessly to impressive back-to-back c & d victories recently and can complete the hat-trick despite another hefty penalty. The runner-up of his last outing Gentleman Only boosted the formline when narrowly defeated next time out. Interestingly, recent upset c & d winner TIME TO BE GREAT shouldered 10.5kgs lesser than the top selection on the same day, a mere 35 minutes earlier and could only finish in a time which was two-tenths of a second slower

Race 7: BURUNDI BUSH(3)
Jockey: S'manga KHUMALO - Trainer: St John GRAY

BURUNDI BUSH wasn't disgraced in decent company that included her useful stablemate Shivering Sea and subsequent easy winner Spring Wonder recently. She may have finished closer but for some traffic issues and was running on at the finish. The bay filly had promising prior form and she drops in class here. She should take a power of beating with Khumalo in the saddle

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: CRAZY VISION(4)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS- Trainer: Alec LAIRD

This is an intriguing novice handicap in which CRAZY VISION could find his best form in his first try as a gelding. The four-year old had always shown ability with his close 2nd to subsequent winner and promising type Shukamisa standing out in his formline. The son of Visionaire has dropped significantly in the merit ratings and he does appear extremely well-handicapped today. That said, he meets some lightly raced sorts who should give plenty of cheek.
