Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: LA COLLOSSA(4)
Jockey: Keagan DE MELO - Trainer: Gavin VAN ZYL

LA COLLOSA attracted betting support when she produced an eye-catching debut against winners over this c & d two weeks ago. She stayed on well for 4th after being slow into stride and should make smart improvement in maiden company here.

Race 2: SWEET TRIAL(12)
Jockey: Gavin LERENA - Trainer: Roy MAGNER

The juvenile SWEET TRIAL has kept his form well and though well beaten into 3rd over a similar trip recently, he finished just under one length behind the well-tried SINGASWEWIN. The Philanthropist colt has much more scope for improvement and he should give a very good account of himself with top jockey Gavin Lerena in the saddle.

Race 7: PLUM BRITISH(1)
Jockey: Mathew THACKERAY- Trainer: Paul PETER

PLUM BRITISH is an improving gelding who fought on gamely for a comfortable victory over CAPTAIN CHIPS over this c & d two weeks ago and he holds strong claims of following up despite the resultant four-pound penalty. The frontrunning son of Great Britain could enjoy a soft lead from his favourable draw today.

TOP BET

Race 8: SPRING WONDER(4)
Jockey: Weichong MARWING- Trainer: Paul PETER

SPRING WONDER returned to form albeit in a losing cause when she was easily defeated by fluent winner SHIVERING SEA (4.5kgs worse off) over this c & d two weeks ago. She has nearly four lengths to find on the speedy latter but should have finished closer but for traffic problems. The daughter of Querari represents some decent each/way value and most interestingly, she achieved her debut victory over the latter with top jockey Weichong Marwing in the saddle.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 4: MOON DANCER(1)
Jockey: Ryan MUNGER - Trainer: Scott KENNY

The grey filly MOON DANCER made big improvement when she ran on late to finish just out of the money in a stronger line-up over seven furlongs on this course two weeks ago. The ninth placed entrant Chapati boosted that formline with a gutsy subsequent victory seven days later and this daughter of Argonaut should cope with the extra furlong. She has almost two lengths to find with the 3rd placed runner ONE DOLLAR MASSAGE on that effort but her favourable draw, coupled with the latter's inside barrier could sway things in her favour.
