Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 4: ANGELIC(2)
Jockey: Muzi YENI - Trainer: Paul PETER
ANGELIC is an above-average sort who probably didn't enjoy dictating terms on her track debut recently but she can make amends with her top jockey in the saddle today. The daughter of Gitano Hernando prefers a strong gallop though and she could take a power of beating in this field. LET'S TWIST had promising form prior to her lengthy absence and ironically a sedate gallop will be to her liking. The inmate from the red-hot De Kock yard is an obvious contender from the best draw on her track debut.
Race 5: HIERONYMUS(3)
Jockey: Deon SAMPSON- Trainer: Brian WIID
HIERONYMUS was given a great ride from the front as he beat a decent line-up over ten furlongs on this course last month and he possibly escaped with only a three pound penalty. He meets some quality younger sorts in this stronger handicap now but will be fitter and should enjoy this slightly shorter trip. The Judpot gelding could enjoy a soft lead and can follow-up. He is his jockey and trainer's only entrant on the card.
Race 6: POLAR SECRET(2)
Jockey: Ryan MUNGER- Trainer: Craig MAYHEW
POLAR SECRET is seldom beaten far and she is weighted to finish much closer to recent conqueror PARISIENNE CHIC (1.5kgs worse off). Admittedly, she may prefer a slightly shorter trip but the pace may not be true here and that will suit the daughter of Elusive Fort. The latter was given a strong ride to win her recent contest and she has no stamina issues, having gone close over marathon trips in the past. SULTRY could be a big improver for this in-form combination after she undoubtedly needed her comeback run. The lightly raced four-year also has no stamina concerns.
Race 8: MOSHAV(7)
Jockey: Piere STRYDOM - Trainer: Stuart PETTIGREW
This is a most intriguing affair particularly as the top three-year old sprinter MUJALLAD takes his place in this line-up. He merits his hefty mass on his handicap debut and he is favourably drawn but there are some hard-knockers who should certainly test the resolve of the likely short-priced favourite. The imported grey colt has his peak showing.
VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 7: WELLSPRING(3)
Jockey:Weichong MARWING- Trainer: Clinton BINDA
This is a tricky low-key handicap where a form reversal could be on the cards. Trainer Clinton Binda holds a decent hand with his duo but WELLSPRING is better than his last effort when he was unfavourab- ly drawn and he can finish much closer to his stable companion MANX PARK despite the pair meeting on similar weight terms. The four-year old has more scope and top jockey Marwing claims the ride.
