Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 2: LA ROQUETTE(5)
Jockey: Marco V/RENSBURG - Trainer: Stanley FERREIRA
There are some really quick types in this small field where an exciting and close finish is expected. The recently turned four-year old LA ROQUETTE is highly rated and her facile debut victory over this track and trip in early November confirmed her promise. She unfortunately fluffed her lines next time out but returns from a lengthy 38 week break which would have served her well. She could be worth following and certainly has more to offer.
Race 4: KINGS ARCHER(5)
Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON - Trainer: Stuart PETTIGREW
KINGS ARCHER has bounced back to form in recent efforts and he finished a most creditable 2nd despite top weight over this distance a fortnight ago. He has competed with success at this higher level in the past and the six-year old entire' has a solid c & d record.
Race 5: AT A GLANCE(5)
Jockey: Weichong MARWING - Trainer: Paul PETER
AT A GLANCE has made smart improvement with blinkers since suffering a thrashing at the hands of GOODYTWOSHOES (seeking a four-timer) in early June. She fought hard for victory over this c & d last time and though she was penalized four pounds for her exertions, her top jockey will know her better today. She can follow-up.
Race 7: JUBILEE LINE(1)
Jockey: Weichong MARWING - Trainer: Scott KENNY
The smart but injury plagued JUBILEE LINE returns from another break and has his first run for his new conditioner who again seems to have found the 'perfect' race for him to get a deserved third career win. The Dynasty gelding drops heavily in class and is very well treated at the weights on official ratings. The engaging of top pilot Marwing indicates that his conditioner will have him fit and well.
VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:
Race 6: OPEN ROAD(4)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS- Trainer: Roy MAGNER
This is another extremely competitive handicap where a close finish is anticipated. OPEN ROAD has clearly reached a suitable mark in her merit rating and that showed when she produced a cracking last run behind BALLY SWISS (2.5kgs worse off) despite being unfavourably drawn. She has her peak showing today and can reverse the neck deficit.
