JOYFUL NOISE was ultra-impressive when winning her last start over 1200m on the polytrack. She set the pace that day and won a lot easier than the official margin suggests. The daughter of Vercingetorix may still be ahead of the handicapper and can notch up her fifth career victory.

GLOBAL DRUMMER has won his last five starts with ease. He took the lead at the 1000m mark last time and fought hard all the way to the line. The son of Global View is unbeaten from two starts over this C&D. Marco van Rensburg knows him very well and he should notch up his seventh career victory.

Race 8: STORYLAND (2)

Jockey: M van Rensburg - Trainer: G Smith 

STORYLAND is one of the better bets on today's card. She showed good signs of a form return last time when finishing third behind Step Lively who takes her place in Race 6 on today's card. She has won once, finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Global View takes a drop in class today and should take a power of beating.

Race 5: FIERY FORT (1)

Jockey: Ramzan Y - Trainer: Smith G

FIERY FORT was not disgraced when finishing fourth against much stronger company last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The son of Elusive Fort takes a big drop in class and will get the services of a 2.5kgs claiming apprentice. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but is likely to use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy
