JACOB’S LADDER was ultra-impressive when winning his last start over 2200m on this course. The manner in which he quickened up and drew clear of the opposition was eye-catching. The son of Duke Of Marmalade takes a rise in class, but he is in a very good space and should be up to the task at hand.

Jockey: L Mxhothwa – Trainer: M Robinson

GREY PRINCESS hails from the visiting Mike Robinson stable. She is much better than her last start over 1700m at Kenilworth. The 6yo mare continues to drop in the ratings and on best form shown, should be too good for this field. Luyolo Mxothwa takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of her where it matters most.

Race 7: DIVE CAPTAIN (3)

Jockey: R Fourie – Trainer: J Nel

DIVE CAPTAIN set the pace in her last start over 1300m on this course, but found one too good in the form of Sound Check. She has won twice, finished second once and third twice from twelve starts over this distance. The daughter of Captain Al takes a drop in class and from her good draw of three, she may be hard to peg back.

Three of his five career victories have come over this distance. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. Tatenda Musekiwa retains the ride and the combination should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure
