Race 1

WHERE’S THE PARTY produced a promising debut effort over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She lost a length at the start, stayed on at the finish but found one too good in the form of Totally Rocks who is a two-time winner. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Pathfork would have gained from the experience and if not too green around the turn, she may be the one to beat.

NAMIBSROOS should have finished closer to the winner in her first run for the Tienie Prinsloo yard. She was balked from the 400m mark to the 300m mark. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She will strip much fitter and is one of the leading contenders.

CAPE PRINCESS ran a fair race in her last start over 1000m on the Polytrack. She finished 1.6 lengths behind the second choice in her penultimate run. She is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result.

Race 2

SLEEK AS SILK showed very good improvement in her last start with the cheekpieces fitted. She set the pace and stayed on to finish second. The daughter of William Longsword is back against her own sex and from her good draw of two, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

CINNAMON BLUSH ran a fair race over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

ROYAL OASIS produced a fair effort over 1000m last time. Her penultimate run when finishing third over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville catches the eye. She shows good speed and may be hard to peg back.

Race 3

SIKHULU’S last two starts on the Polytrack have been good. He has won twice, finished second once and third three times from eight starts over this distance. He takes a drop in class this evening and should return to winning ways.

DANDOLO was an easy winner of his last start over 1000m on this course. He received a six-pound penalty for that victory. He finished 0.3 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights and may have to settle for the same result.

PASSAGE OF POWER’S last two starts have been good. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this distance. He gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand.

Race 4

BOOGIE SHOES should have finished a lot closer to the winner in her last start over 1600m on the Polytrack. After a slow beginning, she was settled at the rear of the field. She started to make her run, but had to be eased at the 150m mark. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight finished third in her only attempt over this C&D. She meets the right field this evening and can return to winning ways.

TOP HONOURS ran a decent race over 1200m on the Polytrack last time. She raced from a handy position and stayed on at the finish. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Main Aim will be staying on at the finish.

LUNDY ISLAND may not have seen out the 2000m last time. She takes a drop in class and will strip much fitter. From pole position, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 5

GOODTIME GUY ran a good race in his comeback run over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He raced from just off the pace and stayed on at the finish. He has won three times from six starts over this distance. The son of Vercingetorix will strip much fitter tonight and with Gavin Lerena in the saddle, he may be hard to peg back.

DESOLATE ROAD has good consistent form lines to his credit. He ran on strongly when second over this distance on the Polytrack last time. If not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should go close to winning.

CHATTERTONS KEEPER ran a good race when second to subsequent winner, Prince Of Taranto. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts over this C&D. He is likely to race on the speed and should be competitive.

Race 6

MASTER OF DESTINY has good consistent form lines to his credit. He has won twice, finished second twice and third twice from eight starts on this course. The 6yo gelding jumps from pole position and if not in need of the run, he should notch up his fifth career victory.

SILVER TYCOON has run two fair races since returning from a 23-week break. He is unbeaten from two starts over this distance. He will be at peak fitness for this outing and should pose a massive threat.

ARCTIC DRIFT has fair recent form lines to his credit. It must be noted that the horse that finished third in his last start has come out and won since. On best form shown, he should be competitive from his good draw of four.

Race 7

WYLIE RILEY ran a good race when second over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. It must be noted that Fire Lord has come out and won again since. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to the mile. With a bit of luck in running, he should go one better.

POLITICAL PARTY’S last three starts have been fair. He steps back up to the mile and Gavin Lerena may be able to get the best out of him.

SAINT SILAS finished 1.3 lengths behind the second choice on debut. He cast a shoe in running that day which didn’t help his chances. The son of Silvano would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, he should run into the placings.

Race 8

This is a competitive Merit Rated 84 Handicap for the girls and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is CRAZY BLUES from the in-form Lorenzo Karriem stable. She raced from a handy position over 1400m on the Polytrack last time and rallied late to finish third. The daughter of William Longsword always gives of her best and may be hard to peg back.

BELLA SICCOME finished 3.45 lengths behind the top choice last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights tonight and should finish closer as a result.

LEE EXPRESS showed good guts when winning her last start over 1400m on the Polytrack. She received a three-pound penalty for that victory. She is in a good space and merits healthy respect
