Race 1

HAYAT ran a good race when finishing third over this distance on the turf last time. He showed good speed, but was outrun late by Vasilikos. The son of Rafeef is a progressive type and in this type of field, is the horse to beat.

KING’S SPEAR is still a maiden after 17 starts, but has good recent form lines to his credit. He runs well for S’manga Khumalo and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

RENAISSANCE MAN ran a good race on debut over this C&D. He showed good pace and stayed on nicely at the finish. The son of Captain Of All returns from a 53-week break, during which time he changed stables and was gelded. If not in need of this outing, he should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 2

WINTER JOURNEY has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She was reported to be fatigued after her last outing. She has finished second twice from as many starts on this course. She is likely to race on the speed and may be rewarded for consistency.

ADITI has run three decent races to date. It must be noted that the horse that finished second in her last outing has come out and won since. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will be at home over the 1200m and she is one of the leading contenders.

COUNTY KILDARE received a bump leaving the start last time, but finished her race off nicely. She will love the extra furlong on offer. From her good draw of two, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

MIA LOA has finished second in her last three starts, the latest of which was over this C&D. She is having her peak run tonight and should be cherry-ripe. The daughter of Erupt gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which may do the trick. She can shed her maiden tag from a good draw of four.

MINSTREL GALLERY made the expected natural improvement when finishing second in her last start over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. The daughter of Duke Of Marmalade is a progressive type and will enjoy the step up to the mile. From her good draw of two, she should pose a massive threat.

TELL MY FORTUNE moved up like a winner in her last start over 2000m, but was outrun by He’smakingeyesatme. She returns from a 14-week break and if not in need of the run, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 4

GIMMIE A STAR is lightly raced with good form to his credit. He took on stronger in his last start over 1600m at Kenilworth and was far from disgraced, finishing third. He returns from a 15-week break, during which time he would have strengthened up. The son of Gimmethegreenlight looks to have ability and if suited to the Polytrack, he should notch up his third career victory.

GRIMALDI should have finished closer in his last start as he hung in the closing stages. It must be noted that Naval Guard has come out and won again since. He won his penultimate effort on this course and merits healthy respect. SEA MASTER finished 0.4 lengths behind

STRAIGHT UP last time. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights tonight and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. He has cracked pole position and will be right there.

Race 5

This is a competitive Merit Rated 94 Handicap and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is ROY’S COMMAND from the Alyson Wright yard. He is a winner of his last three starts. His last victory was ultra-impressive as he was carried wide at the 1300m mark and had to be taken back. He faces his toughest test to date, but he has a good turn of foot and may be the one to side with.

AIRWAYS LAW won a good race in his last start over this C&D. He too, takes a rise in class but carries a handy galloping mass of 54.5kgs and should be up to the task at hand.

GREAT AFFAIR ran a good race when finishing second over 2400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He will enjoy the drop to 1900m and should be at peak fitness. He will be doing his best work at the finish.

Race 6

ATOMIC BLONDE ran a fair race in his last start over 2600m on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Master Of My Fate takes a drop in class and from his good draw of two, he can return to best form.

WALTON HALL has shown good improvement in his last two starts. He raced from a handy position last time, quickened up well but it was a little too late. He will enjoy the step up to 2000m and should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

KHANYISA INDLELA stayed on nicely when finishing fourth over this C&D last time. He meets a similar type of field this evening and with Keagan de Melo retaining the ride, he should feature.

Race 7

RAIN OR SHINE followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over the mile. He raced from a handy position and despite hanging in the straight, he drew clear of the opposition. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. The son of Soft Falling Rain meets a similar type of field tonight and can notch up the hat-trick.

MAXIUMUS cast a shoe in running over 1700m last time. It must be noted that the horse that finished fourth that day has come out and won since. If repeating his penultimate run, he should go close to winning.

BURMESE TIARA won a good race in her last start over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course. She returns from a well- deserved 15-week break and if not in need of the run, she can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 8

MONSOON KENNY showed signs of needing his stable debut over this C&D last time. He used up a lot of energy getting to the front that day and understandably lacked extra in the latter stages. The son of Ideal World would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He is drawn widest of all, but Jason Gates should use his early gate speed and get him into a prominent position.

RUNAWAY SONG followed up his maiden win with a good third-place finish over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He has plenty of scope and if suited to the Polytrack, he should go close to winning.

TECHNO SAVVY ran on nicely last time and fought hard all the way to the line. He gets the blinkers re- fitted this evening and with a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should earn another cheque
