TOP BET FOR TODAY

Race 1: LAVU LAVU (13)
Jockey: Jacobson B - Trainer: Goosen L

LAVU LAVU ran a very good race on debut when finishing third over this distance on the polytrack. She raced from just off the pace that day and stayed on well at the business end. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should win this. She is carded to race on 05 August 2020 and her progress in that race will need to be checked.

Race 2: COPPER MOUNTAIN (3)
Jockey: Danielson R - Trainer: Janse van Vuurren

COPPER MOUNTAIN produced a promising debut effort when finishing just a neck behind the winner. The manner in which he fought to the line that day was encouraging. The son of Noble Tune would have come on with the run under his belt and he should go one better here

Race 3: MAGICAL FLIGHT (8)
Jockey: Hewitson L - Trainer: Hewitson L

MAGICAL FLIGHT showed good improvement in her last start when finishing second behind the highly- rated Winter Smoke. The manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will enjoy the rise to the mile. She drops back to maiden company this afternoon and may be the one they all have to beat.

Race 7: DIVINE HUGH (2)
Jockey: Marcus A - Trainer: Crawford B

DIVINE HUGH should never have lost last time over this distance on the polytrack. He had to switch at a crucial stage up the straight that day, but rallied well in the latter stages. He should strip a much fitter horse this afternoon and with a bit of luck in running, should be tough to beat.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY (EACH WAY)

Race 5: VINSON (6)
Jockey: Kennedy W - Trainer: Rivalland A

VINSON is the value bet on today's card. He should have finished closer to the winner in the KZN Winter Challenge last time as he was carried from the 50m mark. He finished just a short head behind DUTCH ALLEY in his penultimate start and is 2kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough for the tables to be turned. He should be cherry-ripe for today's race and with Warren Kennedy in the saddle, he may be the one to side with.
