Race 1

INSATIABLE has finished second in both her career efforts to date. She showed good speed last time but found one too good in the form of Lucy English. She tries the Polytrack for the first time and if suited to the surface, she can shed her maiden tag. She is carded to race on 27 December 2021 and her progress in that race will need to be checked.

LADIES DAY showed good speed last time and stayed on nicely to finish third. She has finished second in both her efforts over this C&D. The daughter of Great Britain may be hard to peg back in the run down to the line.

LA FILLE was bumped at the start last time, showed speed and did not go on with the effort. She has finished second twice and third once from as many starts over this C&D. The daughter of Captain Of All is back against her own sex and she should go close to winning.

Race 2

HOPE IS POWER won a good race in his last start over this C&D. Despite hanging in the closing stages, he quickened up well and won going away. That was his first start with the tongue-tie fitted and the equipment has done the trick. The son of Soft Falling Rain returns to Handicap Company and will be assisted by 2.5kgs claiming apprentice Rachel Venniker. From his mid-field draw, he can follow up.

MAJORCA PALACE ran on from last in a small field to finish a short head second. He takes a drop in class and from his good draw of two, should pose a threat.

PHINDA MZALA is the stable companion of the top choice. He has won twice, finished second three times and third twice from eleven starts over this distance. The son of Philanthropist will be staying on at the business end.

Race 3

DUKE OF ORANGE was a tad disappointing in his last start over 1600m. He should have finished closer that day as he hung in the closing stages. He may be better suited to this type of distance at this stage of his career and if suited to the Polytrack, may be the one to beat.

PERFECT APPEAL is much better than her last start suggests. She has finished second twice and third once from as many starts on this course. S’manga Khumalo steps into the saddle and from pole position, she should give the males a run for their money.

GET CARTER has finished second in his last three starts on this course. He set the pace last time, but found one too good in the form of Blackwhitedynamite. He finished second in his penultimate run over this C&D. The son of Flying The Flag must be included in all bets.

Race 4

NKALANZINZI has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She should have won last time as she took an awkward stride at the top of the straight and hung in the closing stages. The daughter of Master Of My Fate tries the Polytrack and if suited to the surface, she may be hard to peg back.

CASHEW has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and with a bit of luck, she should be one of the leading contenders.

LILY OF ORANGE is much better than her last start suggests as the jockey reported something to be amiss. She has finished second in both her career efforts over this C&D. From her good draw of three, she will be staying on at the business end.

Race 5

SYX HOTFIX is the best bet on the card. He ran a good race when finishing third over 1900m on the turf last time. He was reported to be cut into that day which may have affected his chances. The son of Flower Alley is a progressive type and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

TRITON should have won last time as his pilot dropped his rein in the latter stages. The son of Jackson will be at home over the extra furlong on offer. Sean Veale retains the ride and he will be looking to make amends.

SIR THEODORE finished 2.6 lengths behind the second choice last time. That was his first start with the blinkers fitted which seems to have made the difference. He should enjoy the extra 200m on offer and can run into the placings.

Race 6

COMMAND CONTROL was given a peach of a ride when winning his last start over 2000m on the grass. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. He has won three times and finished second once from as many starts on this course. The son of Pomodoro faces his toughest test to date, but he has ability and should be up to the task at hand.

DECORATED was a shock winner in his last start over 2200m on the turf. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from eight starts on this course. The blinkers get re-fitted this afternoon and he can follow up.

IBUTHO should have finished closer last time as he was inconvenienced at the 400m mark. The son of Duke Of Marmalade jumps from pole position and if not too far out of his ground turning for home, he should be competitive.

Race 7

DON’T TOUCH ME ran a fair race in his last start over 1800m on the turf. He has won twice, finished second once and third once from six starts over this C&D. The son of Var is a better horse with the blinkers fitted. He takes a slight drop in class and can return to winning ways.

SON OF SILK has his first run in KZN. It must be noted that the form of his last outing has been franked. He has finished second once and third once from three starts over this distance. If suited to the Polytrack, he should give a good account of himself.

ROYAL MONARCH followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over 1400m on this course. He returns from a well-deserved 10-week break. If not in need of the run, he can notch up the hat-trick.

Race 8

HUMDINGER was running on too late when finishing second over this distance on the turf last time. The daughter of What A Winter is lightly raced and looks to have some class about her. She tries the Polytrack for the first time and if suited to the surface, she should go one better here.

PURPLE NKANYEZI raced from a handy position over this C&D last time but found one too good in the form of Lady Legend. She has won three times and finished second twice from seven starts over this C&D. Anton Marcus takes the ride this afternoon and he may be able to get the best out of her where it matters most.

IRISH BELLE finished 0.2 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 1kg worse off at the weights this afternoon and may battle to turn the tables
