Race 1

This is a weak Maiden Plate for three-year-old fillies and caution is advised. The tentative first selection is ACT NATURALLY from the Justin Snaith yard. She showed signs of needing her last run after returning from a 28-week break. The daughter of Querari would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. She is a progressive type and may be the one to side with.

SHE’S NOT EASY finished 1.75 lengths behind the top choice on debut. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them where it matters most.

SHANTA’S PRIDE is an unraced daughter of William Longsword from the Peter Muscutt yard with Calvin Habib in the saddle. Her mother, Cassie O’Malley was a three-time winner from 1600m to 1800m. If not too green, she should get her career off to a positive start. The betting market will be the best guide with regards to her chances.

Race 2

CAPTAIN CATMAN is the best bet on the programme. He raced from a handy position last time, but found one too good in the form of Parmenion. The son of Captain Of All should have no issues with the ris

to the mile. He meets the right field and is the horse to beat. AURORA STORM produced a decent debut effort over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He raced from a midfield position and stayed on at the business end. It must be noted that Fire Lord has come out and won again since. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should be one of the leading contenders.

WAVE WARRIOR is the stable companion of the second choice. He is much better than his last start on the turf. He has finished second twice from as many starts on this course. Tristan Godden takes the ride and the pair cannot be ignored.

Race 3

LET IT SNOW showed very good improvement in her last start over this distance on the turf. She should have finished closer to the winner that day as she was carried outwards at the 150m mark. The daughter of William Longsword tries the Polytrack for the first time and if suited, she can go one better.

ASPOESTERTJIE was carried at the start, but stayed on at the finish. The manner in which she finishes off her races suggests that she will love the rise to the mile. With a bit of luck in running, she should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

DEVILS AND DUST finished 1.4 lengths behind the second choice last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.

Race 4

NAPOLEON has good consistent form lines to his credit. He raced from a handy position over this distance last time and stayed on to finish third. He has finished second twice from as many starts on this course. He takes a slight drop in class and can notch up his second career victory.

QUEUE WING ran on powerfully when winning his last start over 1400m on this course. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

STANLEY ran a decent race in his last start over this C&D. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He runs well for apprentice Kaidan Brewer and should be competitive.

Race 5

WILLOW’S WISH moved up like a winner last time, but found one too good in the form of With Pleasure. He has won once, finished second once and third once from four starts over this distance. He finished second over this C&D in his penultimate run and may be rewarded for consistency.

IDEAL ACT was running on when second over 1200m on this course. The son of Ideal World should have no issues with the rise to 1800m. He should pose a massive threat to the top choice.

ARUMUGAM finished 4.2 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 0.5kgs better off at the weights which is not enough for the tables to be turned. However, he is a much better horse on this surface. From his good draw of three, he should be right there.

Race 6

MISS MAGICIAN finished 0.3 lengths behind MAGICALLEE last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating them in the run down to the line. She has finished second once and third twice from four starts over this C&D. The daughter of Willow Magic will be mowing down the frontrunners.

MAGICALLEE has good recent form lines to her credit. Three of her four career victories have come over this C&D. She shows good speed and if keeping on a straight line, she should be hard to peg back.

WILL O ME followed up her maiden win with a good third-place finish over 1200m on this course. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Willow Magic takes on older rivals, but she looks to be above average and should be competitive.

Race 7

PACIFIC WINTER did not get off to the best of beginnings last time, but finished his race off well to finish second. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. The 6yo gelding should be at peak fitness and if jumping on terms, he should return to winning ways.

RAFALGAR SQUARE finished 2.65 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1.5kgs worse off at the weights and may battle to turn the tables. He is carded to race on 14 August 2022 and his progress in that race will need to be monitored.

LET’S GET TOGETHER won a good race in his last start over this C&D. The son of Gold Standard takes a rise in class, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand.

Race 8

ROYAL KITTY finished 2.4 lengths behind GREEN DREAM last time. She is 7.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. She finished 0.5 lengths behind ARCTIC PRINCESS in her penultimate run. She is 6kgs better off at the weights and should turn the form around. She should strip much fitter and may be the one to side with.

LADY HEIST followed up her maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this C&D. She takes on older rivals, but looks to have class about her and can notch up the hat-trick.

ARCTIC PRINCESS moved up well last time, but was outrun late by Macbeth. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from five starts over this C&D. She should strip much fitter and merits healthy respect
