Winning Form Best Bets

Race 1

ONE BITE AT A TIME is better than her last start over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. Her penultimate effort when finishing second over this C&D catches the eye. The blinkers have been removed this afternoon and with a bit of luck from the widest draw, she may be the one to beat.

PERFECT APPEAL’S last start can be ignored as the jockey reported something to be amiss. Her penultimate run when finishing second over 1000m on this course was promising. She is having her second run after a rest today and should strip a much fitter horse. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BLACK PEPPERCORN ran a fair race on debut over 1000m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She returns from an 11-week break and makes her stable debut. The daughter of Coup De Grace would have come on from the outing and should make the natural improvement.

Race 2

QUEEN MERCURY ran a good race in her local debut over this distance at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. She raced from just off the pace that day and stayed on nicely to finish second. The daughter of Silvano tries the polytrack this afternoon and if suited to the surface, she should be too good for this field.

SHIELD MAIDEN should have finished closer over 1400m last time as she hung in the latter stages. The daughter of William Longsword should be at her best over this distance. She gets the blinkers fitted this afternoon which should keep her mind on the task at hand.

REGINAS ANGEL is still a maiden after 12 starts. Her last two efforts over this distance have been fair. She is likely to race on the speed from her good draw of three and may be hard to peg back.

Race 3

JOSHUA HOTSNAKE produced a promising debut effort over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. He showed good pace that day but found one too good in the form of Proud Master. The beautiful son of Noble Tune would have come on with the run under his belt. He tries the Polytrack and if the 1000m is not too sharp, he should go one better.

IRON BARK showed good improvement in his last start over this C&D under S’manga Khumalo. He showed good pace that day and stayed on nicely to finish second. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should pose a massive threat.

NDAKA finished 0.95 lengths behind the second selection last time. The pair meet on the same weight terms this afternoon and he may have to settle for the same result.

Race 4

CAPE PRINCESS is a filly taking on the males. She was a tad disappointing in her last start over 1100m on this course. Her penultimate run when finishing third over 1200m on this course catches the eye. The daughter of Capetown Noir will love the extra distance on offer and from pole position, she may be the one to side with.

QUIZ MASTER showed good signs of improvement in his last start over 1600m on this course. He set the pace that day, but was outrun in the latter stages. The son of Silvano gets the blinkers fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand.

FIERY DUKE has shown good improvement in each of his outings to date. He showed pace over 1200m last time and stayed on well to finish fourth. The son of Duke Of Marmalade will love the extra furlong on offer today and with a bit of luck in running, he should earn a cheque.

Race 5

CLAUDINA has shown good improvement in each of her outings to date. She raced from a handy position over 2000m last time and stayed on nicely at the finish. The daughter of Wylie Hall tries the Polytrack for the first time and if suited to the surface, she can shed her maiden tag.

DUQUESNE WHISTLE is still a maiden after 11 starts, but she has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She is back against her own sex today and should her stable companion fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.

MAXINE DU MONDE may be the one to spoil the MJ Odendaal party. It must be noted that the form of her last outing has been franked. Keagan de Melo steps back into the saddle and she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 6

INDIGO MOON finished 0.8 lengths behind BELL JAR last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. The daughter of Indigo Magic will love the extra distance on offer and she should be cherry-ripe. With Richard Fourie back in the saddle, she should return to winning ways.

RAINBOW UNICORN stayed on nicely to finish fourth over 1400m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville last time. The daughter of Captain Of All tries the 1700m for the first time and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, she should pose a threat.

BELL JAR was her own worst enemy in her comeback run as she overraced in the early stages. She should strip a much fitter horse and if switching off early, she should be right there in the run down to the line.

Race 7

KINGSMEADS KRYSTL was ultra-impressive when winning her maiden over 1200m on the turf track last time. The manner in which she drew clear of the opposition in the closing stages that day was eye-catching. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. The daughter of Visionaire takes on stronger today, but she looks to have ability and should be up to the task at hand.

BOOGIE SHOES was bumped at the start last time, but finished her race off well. It must be noted that Tupelo Honey has come out and won again since. Her wide draw of eleven is a big concern but with a bit of luck, she should run a big race.

MAID IN FRANCE took at the lead at the 600m mark last time and won with a ton in hand. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. She is drawn widest of all but gets the services of Richard Fourie who will give her all the necessary assistance from the saddle.

Race 8

WHAT A RYDER was not disgraced when finishing fifth against stronger company over this distance on the turf last time. The manner in which he stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. The son of What A Winter takes a drop in class and should strip much fitter. From pole position, he should return to winning ways.

WHITE CEDAR has shown good improvement in his last two starts with the cheekpieces fitted. He drops back in distance, but gets the services of 1.5kgs claiming apprentice Thabiso Gumede. The 6yo gelding will be staying on strongly at the business end.

DIEDI was unlucky last time as he had no luck in the closing stages of the race. He takes a slight drop in class today and from his mid-field draw, he should go close to winning.

Race 9

LESLIES PATHTOFAME showed good signs of a form return in his last start over this C&D. He was unlucky that day as he had to be eased at the 1000m mark and was bumped in the latter stages. He is having his peak run today and should be cherry-ripe. The 7yo gelding takes a slight drop in class and with a bit of luck in running, he should be the one to beat.

STANTON STREET set the pace in his last over this C&D with the blinkers fitted, but was outrun in the latter stages. If confirming his recent improvement, he should throw out a big challenge to the top choice.

WHAT A BLAST lost a length at the start last time, but stayed on nicely at the business end. Four of his six career victories have come on this course. Donovan Dillon takes the ride and if jumping on terms, he should have a say in the outcome of this contest
