TOP BET FOR TODAY

Race 1: LONG WHITE CLOUD (8)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Sands A

LONG WHITE CLOUD produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1250m at Durbanville. She lost a length at the start and had to switch at the 400m mark before finishing her race off well. The daughter of Cable Bay would have gained from the experience and with the natural improvement that is expected, she should take a power of beating.

Race 3: PHIL’S DANCER (1)
Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: Snaith J

PHIL’S DANCER has very good consistent form lines to her name. She looked a winner last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by stable companion, Favorita. She has won twice, finished second once and third three times from six starts over this C&D. She should strip a much fitter horse this afternoon and should return to winning ways.

Race 4: PATH OF CHOICE (2)
Jockey: Marcus A – Trainer: Marshall V

PATH OF CHOICE has some decent recent form lines to his credit. The manner in which he finished off his last start suggests he is looking for the mile at this stage of his career. Anton Marcus takes the ride this afternoon and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 7: WARRIOR (6)
Jockey: Fourie R – Trainer: Snaith J

WARRIOR followed up his maiden win with an equally impressive victory over this C&D. He raced from a handy position last time and the manner in which he quickened away from the field was eye-catching. The son of Futura takes a big rise in class today, but he looks to have plenty of scope and should notch up the hat-trick.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY

Race 8: TICKET TO RIDE (7)
Jockey: V.Niekerk G – Trainer: Ennion G

TICKET TO RIDE’S last two starts have been decent. He finished 0.95 lengths behind BENJAMIN in his penultimate effort. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and that should be enough for the tables to be turned. Grant van Niekerk takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most
