WHAT A WINNER held on well to win his last start over slightly shorter, but the step up in trip should not present a problem and he will be looking to follow up here.

TROJAN WINTER has solid form to his name and has finished second in his last two starts and will be looking to go one better here. WESTERN STORM gets blinkers on today and they could help improve the geldings performance. He has his peak run here and although he finished 5.15L behind the former in the 25 May run, he is 4kgs better off at the weights.

The finish of this race may be dominated by the 2yr old runners, with the top pick being MACTHIEF from the Brett Crawford yard, with stable jockey Corne Orffer doing duty. He understandably raced green on his only run to date, but was making late progress which may suggest that he will prefer the extra ground on offer today. He was fancied in the betting for that outing.
