Race 1

STANLEY PARK showed very good improvement in his last start over this C&D. He moved up like a winner, but was unlucky as he was brushed inwards in the latter stages by the winner. The son of Oratorio is a progressive type and if confirming his recent improvement, he should go one better.

SLIM JANNIE ran a fair race over 1200m on the Polytrack last time. He finished second on debut, but was disqualified for that run. The son of Pathfork looks to have ability and with Rachel Venniker taking the 1.5kgs off his back, he should be one of the leading contenders.

GOLD ENSIGN returns from a lengthy 46-week break. He produced a promising debut effort over this C&D. The son of Captain Of All found betting support that day which suggests that he was showing good work at home. If not in need of this outing, he should be competitive.

Race 2

AUNTY LIZZY was an easy winner of her last start over 1200m on the Polytrack. She has won four times and finished second twice from twelve starts over this distance. 4kgs claiming apprentice Malesela Katjedi takes the ride and the pair may be hard to peg back.

MAQUETTE showed very good signs of a form return in her last start over this C&D. She has won twice and finished second twice from five starts over this C&D. The blinkers seem to have done the trick and she should go close to winning.

LADY CATHERINE finished 3.15 lengths behind the second choice last time. She is 2kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. On best form shown, she should be involved in the fight to the finish.

Race 3

PROMETTERE produced a promising debut effort over this distance on the Polytrack. He lost a length at the start, but the manner in which he finished off his race was eye-catching. The son of Pomodoro would have gained from the experience and should enjoy the switch to the turf. With the natural improvement that is expected, he should take a power of beating.

WITHOUT QUESTION showed very good improvement in his last start over this C&D. He was green in running, but fought hard all the way to the line. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

WINTER PEARL’S last two starts have been decent. The manner in which he finishes off his races suggests that he will love the rise to 1400m. The blinkers are fitted for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand.

Race 4

METALLIC GOLD was slow into stride over 1200m on the Polytrack last time, but stayed on nicely to finish second. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. The son of Flying The Flag takes a drop in class and if jumping on terms, he can return to winning ways.

PHILISPIEL showed good speed when winning his last start over 1000m on this course. He received a three-pound penalty for that victory. He meets a similar type of field today and is one of the leading contenders.

DROGARATI finished 1.3 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 1kg better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. He is having his second run after a rest and will strip much fitter.

Race 5

AMARANDI was super-impressive when winning her last start over this C&D at long odds. She showed good speed, found another kick and won with a ton in hand. The cheekpieces have done the trick on the daughter of What A Winter and she can follow up in similar company.

LIVE MY LIFE ran a fair race in her Handicap debut against Male Company. She was slow into stride, but stayed on at the finish. The daughter of Gimmethegreenlight would have come on from the run. She is back against her own sex and should be competitive.

LAZULI should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was bumped leaving the start and had to be steadied at the 150m mark. She will enjoy the step up to 1200m and with a bit of luck in running, she should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 6

ALITTLEBITNAUGHTY ran a good race when finishing second over this C&D last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. She has won twice, finished second once and third once from as many starts on this course. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should go one better.

GLOBAL SECRET showed some signs of a form return in her last start over this distance on the Polytrack. She has dropped to a competitive rating and if allowed to dictate her own terms, she should be hard to peg back.

FATEFUL MISTRESS ran a fair race in her last start over 1200m. She spread a shoe in running that day which makes the effort that much more encouraging. She jumps from pole position and can run into the placings.

Race 7

MOUNT LAUREL was not disgraced when finishing fifth in the Grade 2 Tibouchina Stakes last time. She raced from a handy position and stayed on nicely at the business end. She has won once and finished third once from as many starts on this course. She jumps from a good draw of two and is the horse to beat.

HUMDINGER was an easy winner of her last start over 1500m on this course. She took the lead at the 250m mark, quickened up well and won with a ton in hand. With a bit of luck from the widest draw, she should pose a threat.

TIME TO ROLL won her last four starts before given a 23-week break. She has won three times, finished second twice and third once from seven starts over this distance. If not in need of this outing, she can notch up her sixth career victory.

Race 8

BOUNDLESS BASH raced from a handy position over 1600m last time, rallied late but found one too good in the form of Greenlight Magic. The son of Judpot is bred to enjoy the rise to 1750m. He gets a change of headgear and on his peak run, he should find himself in the winner’s enclosure.

DAWN MISSION moved up like a winner last time, but was caught in the shadow of the post by Duke Of Normandy. He is back on the turf and if suited to this course, he should go close to winning.

ZOOBERI raced from a handy position over 1600m last time, but found one too good in the form of Countdown. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. With a bit of luck from his wide draw, he should run a big race
