Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: TWIST OF FATE(4)
Jockey: G V.Niekerk - Trainer: J Ramsden

The Ramsden stable holds a decent hand with their trio of entrants in this opening contest. TWIST OF FATE had a decent second showing over this trip on Met Day despite having to ease and the runner-up from PE, Carlita romped to an effortless subsequent victory. This bay colt had his stablemate TEMP THE TIGER comfortably behind him and he holds strong claims despite the wide draw

Race 2: CARIOCA(1)
Jockey:  D Dillon  - Trainer: J Ramsden

The Ramsden yard could again come to the fore here where their experienced representative CARIOCA should continue to improve. The bay daughter of Var showed good speed to shed her maiden tag over a similar distance last month and she should easily overcome her wide draw on track debut.

Jockey: R Fourie  - Trainer: W Nel

This is an intriguing contest where just seven entrants head to post and the likely dictator could hold all the aces. The top weight LOVE TO BOOGIE is bred to love this rise in distance and she could be asked to lead by her in-form jockey. The promising but injury plagued daughter of Trippi wasn't well weighted in a feature last time but had an impressive comeback sprint win on her track debut prior to that.

Jockey: R Fourie  - Trainer: A Marcus

The form choice in this competitive mile handicap is the four-year old BRIDAL PARTY who aims to keep her 100% c & d record intact. She finished well for a close 2nd after an awkward start over this trip recently and though the 3rd placed runner Foxy Princess had a dismal subsequent outing, this bay filly should still be a lively contender. The three-year olds will severely test her though.

Race 4: SEQUINED(5)
Jockey: W Byleveld  - Trainer: V Marshall

SEQUINED is better than some of her below-par efforts in the latter part of spring and the once promising daughter of Oratorio would have benefitted from the 15 week absence. She should easily handle the rise in class and can stake a serious claim from the best draw.
