TOP BET

Race 1: ABRAMO(1)
Jockey: T Gould - Trainer: A Greeff

ABRAMO enjoyed the turn and the extra ground as he produced a career best effort when close-up in 2nd in open company over seven furlongs last month. The 4th placed entrant Rasta Bay has subsequently shed his maiden tag and this son of Await The Dawn should continue to progress. He should relish racing on this surface and can go one better from the best draw.

Race 3: BAYETO(1)
Jockey: M Yeni - Trainer: G Smith

BAYETO may have just needed his comeback run when nabbed late on local debut over this c & d two weeks ago and the former Cape resident will strip fitter today. He had just over one length to spare on his stable mate MR HARDY who finished 3rd that day but clearly has more scope in this province and should confirm the form.

Race 6: KING DJANGO(1)
Jockey: C Murray  - Trainer: T Laing

The potential lack of a solid gallop in this competitive mile handicap will suit the top weighted entire' KING DJANGO who has kept his form really well since his arrival in this province. He runs well for this in-form jockey and is suited by blinkers. Furthermore, the former KZN resident has developed into a polytrack specialist.

Race 8: GRIZABELL(7)
Jockey: R Khathi  - Trainer: J Snaith

GRIZABELL has lived up to her merit rating in recent starts and she caught the eye with a gutsy last effort behind the extremely well-ridden ROCKSETTE (2kgs worse off) over this c & d two weeks ago. The Snaith inmate has cracked the best draw here and she has a major chance of reversing the form. Of course she will be aided by an in-form jockey.

VALUE BET

Race 2: CARBON OFFSET(4)
Jockey: K Minnie    - Trainer:  A Greeff

Just seven entrants face the starter for this highly competitive and intriguing five furlong handicap. CARBON OFFSET had a disappointing second local showing but perhaps still needed the effort and he quickly returns to the minimum trip. Of course the former Cape resident finished strongly for a close 3rd in his first start in this province over this track & trip. Interestingly, he was only a head adrift of his highly promising stablemate VARSITY CUP that day and the pair meet on identical weight terms.
