Race 3: BIG MYTH(1)
Race 5: A P CHANEL(11)

Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 1: POWER OF PLACE(5)
Jockey: M Khan - Trainer: G ALEXANDER

POWER OF PLACE expectedly improved as he reverted to sprinting in a competitive line-up recently and hardly surprisingly that formline has worked out well. The runner-up Prince Jordan and 3rd placed entrant Seventh Rule triumphed subsequently in their respective starts. This well-related Var gelding should cope with this extra furlong as he did behind subsequent winner Hafla three starts ago and he gets the first verdict in an ordinary affair.

Race 2: CHOIR SINGER(8)
Jockey: K ZECHNER    - Trainer:  L HOUDALAKIS

CHOIR SINGER is the obvious form choice in a moderate affair and the lightly raced juvenile has her peak showing. She should cope with this extra furlong after finishing well over six furlongs recently.

TOP BET

Race 3: BIG MYTH(1)
Jockey: L HEWITSON    - Trainer: S TARRY

The lightly raced natural frontrunner BIG MYTH was slightly below-par when she weakened into 4th in a much stronger event over a similar distance recently but she had a few of today's ordinary rivals behind her and the imported bay filly has obvious scope for further improvement.

Race 5: SAILOR GIRL(5)
Jockey: C MAUJEAN  - Trainer: S FERREIRA

The three-year old SAILOR GIRL caused a major upset when she drew clear to record a comfortable triumph over the veteran mare A P CHANEL over this distance at Turffontein five weeks ago. She was raised five pounds for her exertions and now meets the latter on 3.5kgs worse terms but is an improving sort who can defy the handicapper back on her home ground. The latter is obviously weighted to reduce the 2.50 length deficit.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 6: ALL NIGHT FLIGHT(3)
Jockey: K DE MELO     - Trainer - R Magner

There are some speedy sorts in this competitive five furlong handicap where the Magner stable is well- represented but the lesser fancied entrant of their quartet ALL NIGHT FLIGHT can cause the upset. The five-year old has gradually reached a competitive merit rating after a host of fair performances but he made late progress in stronger company last time after suffering a bump at the start.
