THERAVADA has finished second in both his two starts to date and looks to have a good chance of going one better today. He was under a length behind the winner on each of those starts. Gavin Lerena retaining the ride and the pair jump from a good draw, DICKENS on the other hand has a wide draw to overcome, but the way the gelding finishes off his races, this may not be too big a problem.

Race 6: STREET FLYER(7)

Jockey: J Penny - Trainer: P Matchett 

STREET FLYER goes for a hat-trick of wins in this event and has a good chance of pulling this off from draw two. Jarryd Penny has been aboard in both of those wins and he retains the ride today. The 7yr old gelding does not seem to have lost his zest for racing. His penultimate victory was full of merit as he took a bump in that race.

Race 7: SEATTLE FORCE(6)

Jockey: D De Gouveia  - Trainer: T Pettigrew 

SEATTLE FORCE may prefer further and a more galloping track, but the gelding has been somewhat of a revelation since his move to the Highveld and joining the Stuart Pettigrew stable. He set his own pace last time out and stayed on well, so might be able to complete the treble today.

CONDOR GULCH did win his only attempt at this distance and was not disgraced in his last start despite making a respiratory noise. Top jockey Gavin Lerena is re-united with him and he was also aboard him in his penultimate start when finishing second in a mile event
