Race 1

JORDAN was a beaten odds-on favourite in his last start over this distance. He returns from a 14-week break which would have done him the world of good. The son of Silvano has ability and if finding the form of his debut effort, he should be the one to beat.

LIVEBYTHESWORD showed good improvement in his last start over this distance. He cost himself winning that day as he hung in the latter stages. The son of Master Of My Fate is a progressive type and should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.

BIRTHRIGHT has been his own worst enemy in his last two starts over further as he has over raced in the early stages. He will enjoy the drop in distance and will be at peak fitness. Denis Schwarz takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.

Race 2

PRINCESS LOLA showed good improvement when second in her last start over 1200m. She raced from just off the pace, but found one too good in the form of Southern Style. The daughter of Royal Mo will love the rise to the mile and there should be more to come from her.

UNITED WE STAND should have finished closer to the winner last time as she was squeezed at the 400m mark. She has finished second once and third once from as many starts over this distance. Philasande Mxoli retains the ride and with luck, she should pose a threat.

CITY LIGHTS stayed on when fourth over 1450m on the Turffontein Inside course last time. The daughter of Pomodoro will love the rise to the mile and should have a say in the outcome of this contest.

Race 3

EIFFEL TOWER won a good race in his last start over this distance. He was switched for running room at the 300m mark and the manner in which he quickened away from the field was eye-catching. The son of Potala Palace takes on stronger, but he looks to have a lot of heart and should be up to the task at hand.

 FUSHIMI INARI ran on strongly when winning his maiden over this distance last time. He gets a change of headgear this afternoon. He does make his Handicap debut, but has plenty of scope and should give a good account of himself.

BOM BOM is better than his last start over 1200m. His penultimate run behind Covert Operator was encouraging. He is back in Handicap Company today and with Muzi Yeni up, he can show improvement. 

Race 4

PARKER GETRIX‘S last start can be ignored as he was reported to be not striding out. He won a good race in his penultimate outing over this distance. S’manga Khumalo takes the ride and if putting his best foot forward, he can win a race of this nature.

GODFATHER finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result. 

ELEMENTAL FORCE won a good race when shedding his maiden tag over 1400m at Turffontein. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He takes on stronger, but he has plenty of scope and should be up to the task at hand. 

Race 5

BATTLEGROUND is a winner of his last two starts. He has won once and finished third once from as many starts over this distance. The son of Futura meets a similar line-up this afternoon and can notch up the hat-trick. 

ABSOLUTE VALUE finished 3.25 lengths behind the top choice last time. He is 3kgs better off at the weights today and he should finish closer as a result. He has won twice and finished second once from as many starts over this C&D.

RULE BOOK won a good race in his last start over 2600m on the Turffontein Inside course. He finished third in his only attempt over this C&D. He finished 4.5 lengths behind the top choice in his penultimate run. He is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and should finish closer as a result

Race 6

STAR COIN was in need of his comeback run over 1200m on the Turffontein Inside course. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. The son of Gold Standard will love the rise to 1450m and he can notch up his fourth career victory. 

SHOEMAKER is better than his last start in the Grade 3 Hollywoodbets Dolphins Cup Trial. The 18-week break would have done him the world of good. This run will bring him on for future races, but he has the class to be competitive.

SMORGASBORD showed some signs of needing his last start over 1200m. He finished third in his only attempt over this distance. The son of Twice Over will strip a much fitter horse today and on best form shown, he should be competitive

Race 7

DUKE OF ROCK may not have seen out the 1600m at this stage of his career last time. He won a game race when shedding his maiden tag over this distance in his penultimate run. The son of Duke Of Marmalade tries the blinkers for the first time which should keep his mind on the task at hand. He takes a drop- in class and may be the one to side with.

DARK TIDE has consistent form lines to his credit. Two of his five career victories have come over this distance. He is likely to race on the speed and may be hard to peg back.

JET CAT showed some signs of a form return last time. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. 

Race 8

THERE SHE GOES took on stronger company in her last start. Two of her four career victories have come over this distance. Apprentice Trent Mayhew takes the 4kgs off her back which will assist her cause. She takes a drop-in class and can notch up her fifth career victory

GOLDEN ASPEN stayed on when third over this distance last time. She has won once and finished third twice from five starts over this C&D. She takes a slight drop-in class and is one of the leading contenders

LIL MISS MONEYBAGS fought hard in her last start, but was touched off by Lulu’s Boy. She is back against her own sex this afternoon. Gavin Lerena retains the ride and the pair merit healthy respec
