Race 1
MARY‘S GREENLIGHT is better than her last start as she received a bump at the 200m mark. She returns from a 19-week break which may have done her the world of good. Her debut effort when fourth over this C&D catches the eye. She gets the services of capable work rider Anathi Feni and if not in need of the run, she can win.
RUGGER LOVER showed good improvement in her last start over this C&D. She gets the blinkers fitted which should keep her mind on the task at hand. She is having her peak run and will be cherry-ripe.
TOGETHER AGAIN ran a fair race over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. She can place in this line-up.
Race 2
STREET ART had excuses in his last start over 2200m at Hollywoodbets Greyville. He won his only attempt on this course. He gets the services of 4kgs claiming apprentice Trent Mayhew which will help his chances. If not in need of the run, he may be the one to beat.
BLACK THORN ran a fair race in the Grade 3 World Pool Gold Cup. He has won three times, finished second once and third once from six starts over this distance. Should the top choice fluff his lines, he may be the one to pick up the pieces.
BREEZE OVER has good consistent form lines to his credit. He has finished second in his last three starts. He does meet a competitive field, but carries a handy galloping mass of 52kgs and should give a good account of himself.
Race 3
EMBLEM OF WAR produced an eye-catching debut effort over 1600m. Despite over racing in the early stages, he fought hard all the way to the line. He would have gained from the experience and should make the natural improvement. If Muzi Yeni is able to switch him off early, he should go one better.
KAMBULU ran a fair race over 1600m last time. He is a temperamental type who returns from a 22-week break. Piere Strydom retains the ride and if fit, he should pose a massive threat.
BREGARDT has fair recent form lines to his credit. He takes a big rise in distance and if seeing out the extra distance on offer, he can place.
Race 4
PEWTER SKY rallied late when second over this distance on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack last time. He returns to the Highveld and takes a drop-in class. Philasande Mxoli is in fine form and the combination merit healthy respect.
SILVANO‘S SONG has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He ran on from last when second over this distance last time. Gavin Lerena takes the ride and he may be able to coax that little bit extra out of him where it matters most.
ROMEO‘S MAGIC ran on from far back when third over this distance on the Turffontein Inside course last time. It must be noted that the form of that race has been franked. Gavin Lerena has opted to ride the second choice, but he cannot be ignored from a handy draw of five.
Race 5
BURMESE TIARA set the pace over 2400m last time, but found one too good in the form of Ideal Future. She finished second in her only attempt over this C&D. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and she should be hard to peg back.
PRINCESS KESH finished 2.25 lengths behind the top selection last time. She is 0.5kgs better off at the weights today which is not enough to turn the form around. Two of her three career victories have come on this course and she cannot be ignored.
PRETTY IN PEARLS kept finding to win her last start over 2000m on the Hollywoodbets Greyville polytrack. She finished 4.25 lengths behind the second selection in her penultimate run. The pair meet on the same weight terms today and she may have to settle for the same result.
Race 6
CORAPI fought hard for his last victory over 2400m. It must be noted that multiple horses from that form line have come out and won since. He received a two-pound penalty for that victory. Muzi Yeni retains the ride and he can follow up.
FIFTH OF JULY has produced two decent comeback runs. He has won once, finished second once and third twice from nine starts over this distance. He is likely to be settled near the rear of the field from his wide draw and will be mowing down the frontrunners.
SKYFULL should have finished closer to the winner last time as she hung in the closing stages. She has won once, finished second once and third twice from six starts on this course. If keeping on a straight line, she should be competitive.
Race 7
ALABAMA ANNA was not disgraced against male company last time. The manner in which she stayed on at the finish that day was encouraging. She is back against her own sex and in this field, she can return to winning ways.
PERILLA was caught late when third over 1600m on this course last time. She would have come on from the run and should be at home over 1450m. Should the top choice fluff her lines, she may be the one to pick up the pieces.
COUNTESS DANZA stayed on when third over 1200m on this course last time. She won her only attempt over this C&D. She runs well for Raymond Danielson and merits healthy respect.
Race 8
IN THE ETHER was doing her best work late when 1.5 lengths behind BROSNAN last time. She is 1.5kgs better off at the weights today and there should not be much separating the pair in the run down to the line. She has won once and finished third twice from five starts over this C&D. She will be at peak fitness and can return to winning ways.
AXEL COLLINS ran a fair race over this distance last time. He showed good speed that day, but tired late. He takes a drop-in class and is one of the leading contenders
BROSNAN finished 0.75 lengths behind the second choice last time. He is 0.5kgs worse off at the weights today and may have to settle for the same result
