Magic Tips Best Bets

Race 6: WYLIE WENCH (6)
Jockey: R Danielson  - Trainer: A Azzie

WYLIE WENCH is one of the better bets on today's card. She won her maiden in her penultimate start and followed that victory up with an even more impressive win. She beat some quality horses that day and looks to be above average. The daughter of Wylie Hall would have strengthened up during her time off the track and should notch up the hat-trick.

TOP BET

Race 7: CELTIC SEA (1)
Jockey: G Lerena - Trainer: S G Tarry

CELTIC SEA is a classy sort with top credentials to her name. The Grade 1 winner obviously has bigger fish to fry this season, but she is a class above the rest of this field and should get back to winning ways. Her stable companion IN THE DANCE looks to be the biggest threat.

Race 8: INDY GO (1)
Jockey: C Murray  - Trainer: C Dawson

INDY GO ran a very good race when finishing second over this distance at Turffontein last time. He raced from a handy position that day and challenged all the way to the finishing post. His record over today's distance is decent having finished second twice and third twice from five attempts. If continuing his good run of form, he should be rewarded for consistency today.

Race 9: RIVER JORDAN (5)
Jockey: L Ferraris  - Trainer: S G Tarry

RIVER JORDAN has very good recent form to his credit. He has won twice and finished second four times from his last six starts. The manner in which he stayed on when finishing runner-up over this c&d was encouraging. Apprentice Luke Ferraris knows him well and the pair should find themselves in the winner's enclosure today.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 4: SAMOA (4)
Jockey: S Brown - Trainer: B Stidolph

The value bet on today's programme is SAMOA from the Bridget Stidolph stable. She has been costly to follow, but she has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. She finished third in her last start over 1160m at Turffontein behind Dark Song. The five-year old mare does not meet the strongest field here and with Sherman Brown retaining the ride, she looks to be the one to side with.
