The pick of the fixtures on the midweek Absa Premiership coupon sees high flying Cape Town City take on Kaizer Chiefs on Wednesday night.
Cape Town City:
Benni McCarthy is having a dream start to his coaching career with City. They have taken maximum points from 2 league matches and at the weekend they clinched a place in the MTN8 final with a 2-1 win away at Wits to go through 3-2 on aggregate. City also beat Wits away from home (1-0) in their opening Absa Premiership fixture and they followed up with a 3-1 home win over Platinum Stars. That makes City one of 2 sides with a 100% record with Maritzburg being the other. Lebogang Manyama departed for Turkey just before the transfer window closed.
The Champions League group stage gets underway in September and Playa Bets has joined Goodforthegame to set up a FREE TO ENTER Superbru competition with thousands of Rands in betting vouchers up for grabs. More details here
Chiefs league campaign began at Bloem Celtic and they came away with a 1-1 draw but in their second outing they were beaten 2-1 by Supersport. There were excuses for that home defeat with Chiefs playing the bulk of the game with 10 men and Supersport also knocked them out of the MTN8 with a 1-0 win in Durban. Chiefs lost to City in Cape Town twice last season, once in the league and once in the MTN8 and they have yet to beat City since their transition from MP Black Aces. Transfer deadline day was quiet and even at this early stage the pressure is mounting on Chiefs to grab a first victory of the new campaign.
Recent Head to Head
PSL Cape Town City 3-2 Chiefs
PSL Chiefs 1-1 Cape Town City
MTN8 Cape Town City 1-0 Chiefs
Cape Town City 13/10
Kaizer Chiefs 2/1

We saw a high scoring game at the tail end of last season but both these teams were battling to stay in the title race at the time and this could be more cagey. I still think we could see goals though and 2-3 in total is the pick.
Bet: Total goals 2-3 at 9/10
