Bloem Celtic had a nightmare end to 2018, suffering 4 straight defeats in the run up to Christmas. They had started the campaign really well and were up with the leading group until things started to fall apart in December. That led to Komphela’s resignation and he had plenty to say about what he had to contend with in the role. To prove how quickly things can change in this league, Celtic shrugged off the loss of their coach to win 1-0 at Chippa on their return to action last weekend. The victory was their first since 10th November and it moved them back into the top 6. Home games this season have generally been low on thrills with Celtic winning 3, drawing 2 and losing 3, scoring 6 goals and conceding 5.

Komphela has subsequently made a winning start to his time at Golden Arrows. They were 2-0 winners at home to Maritzburg last weekend despite being reduced to 10 men midway through the second half. Arrows are just below half way in the standings, 5 points shy of Celtic. Away from home this season they have won just the once with 5 draws and 2 defeats, scoring 7 goals and conceding 8. That sole away win came at Maritzburg on the opening weekend of the campaign.

When the teams met in KZN earlier this season Celtic ran out 2-0 winners.

Verdict:

Komphela’s former assistants took over at Celtic so there are no secrets as to how these sides are likely to set up. With that in mind a draw could well be on the cards. However the Celtic faithful are far from happy with the clubs owners which won’t help the atmosphere and their old coach might just collect all 3 points on his return.

Bet: Arrows to win at 32/10
