Wednesday is a busy night of DSTV Premiership football and our focus is on Orlando Pirates v Golden Arrows and Supersport United v Amazulu
Supersport 6/10 Draw 24/10 Amazulu 5/1
Supersport played out a 0-0 draw with rivals Sundowns at the weekend and they finished the round in third place, 2 points behind Downs and Swallows who continue to set the pace. Sundowns are in action again 24 hours before this match takes place so the picture will have changed by kick off.
With 5 wins and 2 draws in their last 7 league games Supersport remain in terrific shape. Prior to the weekend stalemate they had found the net at least twice in 6 consecutive games. A tally of 19 goals this season sees Supersport the joint top scorers in the DSTV Premiership but they have kept just 2 clean sheets in the last 8.
Benni is finding it tough going at Amazulu who are in a very congested lower half of the standings. After a 0-0 draw in a derby with Maritzburg at the weekend they have won just 1 of their last 8 and 4 road trips this season have delivered 2 draws and 2 defeats including an earlier visit to Tshwane which saw them go down 4-3 to Sundowns.
Supersport can edge this one by the minimum margin
Bet: Supersport to win by 1 goal exactly at 24/10
Orlando Pirates evens Draw 21/10 Golden Arrows 28/10
I made Pirates one of the better bets on the weekend coupon but their visit to struggling Black Leopards ended in a 2-0 defeat, a second loss of the DSTV Premiership season. Prior to that the Bucs came away from Tshakhuma with a comfortable 3-0 win and they now return to Orlando where they are unbeaten with 2 wins and 3 draws. Pirates finished the weekend program in fifth place, 8 points off the summit and 1 point shy of their opponents here.
Arrows remain unbeaten after 10 league games and their record comprises of 4 wins and 6 draws. The number of draws has kept them under the radar to some extent but they have a game in hand on the top 3 and they come into this match on the back of 1-0 wins at home to Chippa and Tshakhuma. This will be just the fourth road trip for Arrows and earlier results away from home include draws with Baroka and TS Galaxy and a 2-0 win in a derby against Amazulu.
Pirates were a huge let down at the weekend and they face an in form side. My concern with Arrows is that have played so few away fixtures and none of those came against top sides. They are obviously in good shape though and I take them to come away with a point
Bet: Match result draw at 21/10
