OrlandoPiratesThe MTN8 semi final second leg between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates takes place at Soccer City on Sunday and at 3-0 down Chiefs have a mountain to climb.

Kaizer Chiefs

Chiefs created and missed chance in the first leg and they were made to pay with Pirates scoring once in the first half and twice after the break. It leaves the Amakhosi chasing this game from pretty much the first whistle and when you look at their DSTV Premiership form which has seen them score just 1 goal in 3 outings, the chances of turning this around look pretty slim.

Chiefs last won the MTN8 back in 2014, beating Pirates 1-0 in the final.

Lepasa, Pule and Lorch were on target for the Bucs in the first leg although there was bad news after the game as it emerged coach Josef Zinnbauer has been granted leave to attend to a family health matter back in Germany with Fadlu Davids standing in. On the team news front, at the time of writing striker Thembinkosi Lorch was described as an injury doubt for this game

Overall this season Pirates have conceded just 2 goals in 5 competitive games and they have yet to concede in the 2 MTN8 matches so far. A 1-0 win at Bloem Celtic in a midweek league game confirmed their well being.

You have to go back to 2011 for the last time Pirates lifted the Top 8 trophy.

Recent Head to Head

Aside from the first leg Chiefs had a good time of it against Pirates last season winning both league meetings, 3-2 at home and 1-0 in the return. The teams also met in last season's Telkom Knockout and Chiefs won on penalty kicks after the game finished 1-1 in 90 mins and 2-2 after extra time.

The Betting

In the early match result betting with Hollywoodbets Chiefs can be backed at around 33/20 to win the game, the draw is trading at around 2/1 and Pirates are also priced up at around 33/20

Pirates don't have to win the game to complete the job but I can see them catching Chiefs out at some stage and both teams to score is my idea of a winning bet.

Bet: Both teams to score? (yes) at 17/20
