spurs1819A betting preview for the Uefa Champions League Group B clash between Red Star Belgrade and Spurs which takes place on Wednesday 6th November.

Coming into Matchday 4 Bayern Munich are 5 points clear at the top of Group B with a 100% record. Spurs are in second with 4 points, Red Star have 3 and Olympiacos have 1.

Bayern can seal their place in the knockout rounds with victory over Olympiacos on Wednesday night but our focus is on the Red Star v Spurs clash.

Red Star Belgrade

Red Star's only points in the group so far came from their only home game, a 3-1 win over Olympiacos on Matchday 2. They had to come from 1-0 down at half time to win that game and now bid to turn form around with Spurs after suffering a 5-0 defeat in London in the previous round of matches. Red Star's other group match ended in a 3-0 defeat to Bayern in Munich. They will expect to offer up a sterner test on home turf and remember last season Red Star beat Liverpool 2-0 in a group stage home game and also held Napoli to a 0-0 draw.

Spurs

Kane and Son both scored twice for Spurs in the earlier meeting with Red Star and Lamela was also on target. At 3-0 up Spurs had the game won by half time to boost their chances of reaching the knockout rounds after a disastrous 7-2 home defeat to Bayern on Matchday 2. Spurs' other group match finished in a 2-2 draw at Olympiacos, a game they led 2-0 after 30 minutes. Victory here would be a giant stride towards sealing second spot with a home game against Olympiacos to come followed by a visit to Bayern who will almost certainly be assured of top spot by then.

On the domestic front Spurs continue to under-perform in the Premier League where they can be found in mid table and it is their away form which will be of the most concern. A 1-1 draw at Everton last weekend was their twelfth Premier League road trip without a victory, a run which comprises of 9 defeats and 3 draws.

The Betting:

At the time of writing Red Star were trading at 37/10 to win the game with the draw at 3/1 and Spurs are odds on favourites at 7/10.

The markets point to goals with over 2.5 available at 6/10 and it's 13/20 for both sides to find the net.

The Verdict:

Spurs need to leave some very poor domestic away form behind them for a game which should be much more of a contest than what we saw when the teams met in London on Matchday 3.

I can see scope for goal for each side and hopefully at least 1 more.

Bets: Both teams to score? (yes) and over 2.5 total match goals at 9/10.
